He will, he will rock you! Sacha Baron Cohen to play Freddie Mercury in film about Queen

In what could be one of the more inspired castings we've heard about in quite some time, Sacha Baron Cohen has signed on to star as Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in a movie about the legendary rock band.
I actually think he could do a great job. What a voice Freddie had! I have the DVD of Live Aid and have watched their performance many times! I loved Queen and was very sad when Freddie died. ...look forward to seeing the movie.
Freddie (and Queen) is one of those performers and bands that I didn't give enough respect to back in the day. Chris you are right...WHAT A VOICE. We have friends who through his job with an a audio company knew Freddie and the band personally....he had been their cheif touring sound guy for some time. They always remark what a great guy he was behind the scenes. As much as I really don't like Sacha Baron Cohen...I can see him in this role.
Queen has always been and always will be one of my favorite bands. I can sort of remember seeing them when I was 10 in Providence. That was such an awesome show. I saw in a documentary that he never wanted to have his teeth fixed because he was so concerned that it would mess up his singing. Innuendo and Barcelona are still two of my favorite releases all these years later. No matter who is behind the mike, Queen will never be Queen without Freddie Mercury. His voice and Brian May's guitar made the group what it was. I am so glad to hear they are making a movie about his life and the group.
