Glad I could help, the mood is to heavy on this board we are Parrotheads we fly by the seat of our pants and go where the winds take us. Usually to work and the calendar to plan plan plan lol ok we can't be as spontaneous as we want kids jobs and bosses get in the wa excpet that guy who posted he took 20 days off this summer and plans on using just half of them with 31 yrs senority (lucky guy)
It'd just be nice to know an approximate date WHEN these dates would be announced. If I would have known at the beginning of February that it would be March before we knew anything for sure, it would have caused a lot less stress! Every day I keep thinking its gonna be the one where we get some news..and then nothing. 4-5 weeks of that is bound to cause some frustration!

In the good ole days where all the tickets were sold on day 1 and that was it now it's a mathmatical formula based on wind and high tides and who bribed the ticketmaster sales agent the most.
I just like being next to other parrotheads who have a real love for Jimmy. While we do get next to some of them, a lot are power drinking kids who have no clue who Jimmy really is who want the parking lot party. (not that that is a bad thing) but these are who get all the lawn seats. And then the older the real parrtoheads get they want the better pavillion seats and if they can't get them the skip the show (my mom, and soem of the people i have gone with over the years since 1990) and say they will try next year cuz they dont want to sit in the new pavillion outside seat if it rains (well Mansfield atleast).

i was front row on Thursday and 4th row on Sat in 2010....tickets were pulled from ticketmaster / live Nation the day before each show......i like the old days of getting tickets....show early in the morning i'd be 1st or 2nd in line ( not many PH in the area i live ).....or known the people that pull the tickets....holding me a pair.....then it changed with wrist bands or the lottery system which sucked
Well yeah knowing the dates would be nice but the way i look at it now each day is like XMAS you wake up and look for dates but nothing its like not getting that remote controled car you wanted til one day you wake up and it is there and what a great surprise it is.
Then having to get as many people as you know to all go online to try and get tickets and hope that if you get shut out ur friend didnt and has tickets for you. Then getting the time off and what happens if Suzie in the next cublicle sister is getting married that weekend and has had vac approved for months and now youhave to act like you dont want to go and you dont care so you can call in sick.
And anyone meets me in mansfield is welcome to a drink guys a shot women a shot on the ice luge and No you can't say NO

Heck yes the early days of tickets I used to do the same I grew up on Cape Cod so lots of PH but always got the to be 1 or 2 in line myself and could get tickets for all my friends. I miss those days.
The ticketmaster and the lines and lottery and the person walking up at the last min and getting #1 in line with 10 kids under 7 in tow all who get tickets

i remembered the 1st time with the lottery....i was 2nd in line , at a different TM ( the one i use to go to closed )......all of a sudden i see all these people show up , who i knew were scalpers......i knew ,who they were from going to sporting events and other concerts in the area.....the lottery happens and i'm bumped way back....they are bumped up to the front....and they bring other people with them to increase there chances.....last time i went that route!!
yeah same for me at the old Filenes in Hyannis same thing 7th in line hand out tickets for lottery said only 100 will get the tickets pass them out and this girl shows up with like 7 or 8 kids and gets a ticket after they said all had been handed out she and her group get #1 and no one else gets a ticket they were inside for over 30 mins. There was almost a riot.
so now I do the online thing and have been lucky.

my family had a summer home in the Hyannis area...sold it a few years ago...miss the place......my TM was in a strawberry's.......the 1st one i use to go to...before my Buffett days , was in a little county gift store.
my 1st was a music store in Falmouth til the little places lost them.
If the rumors are true for Mansfield then I have to go on the 16th as my daughter has a dance recital on Sat so should be easier to get tickets I hope hope hope
mikemax71 wrote:Jimmy did sell out both shows last year is you go on the basis that on the day the tickets went on sale 12 mins later you couldn't get any. But to beat scalpers and other who want to profit more the release tickets every so often giving people the chance to buy at face value (plus tix fees).
I have been lucky in all my years going I have only been shut out once and had to buy from a scalper.

Thursday was far from a sellout....i'm sure others that were there would agree!!!....as for the shows when they go on sale.......i remember being able to pull tickets every day till the show.....except for lawns....as a matter of fact i'm not sure on, if it was last year or the year before...that GW employees were offering people pavilion seats in exchange for there lawn seats.......i guess my take on a sell out is every ticket being sold and every seat filled.
The Thursday show at Great Woods had far less than 19,900 people there. A big part of it had to do with game 7 Celtics - Lakers happening the same night. And the a lot of people who did go left at intermission.
