Those were the good ole days! The closest ticketmaster to me was in Filenes at the Auburn Mall. I remember walking up to the counter and wishing she would type a bit faster for a few shows I wanted to go to.

I worked at Filenes in Chestnut Hill for 6+ years 1994-2000 doing store security (AKA I dressed as a customer and caught shoplifters). I also helped out customer service dealing with the lines for tickets during Ticketmaster on-sale mornings because this store also was a Ticketmaster outlet. It was always rigged, Jim Holtzman the guy who owns Ace Ticket was always there with his crew, I got to know them and him very well (nice guy actually) as did the people in customer service and they would pull tickets for him before anyone was allowed in so if you were a regular customer first inline you were getting at best the 20th set of tickets while Jim got the first 20. The "lottery" for a spot in line was nothing more than a formality it didn't matter who was first Jim was getting the first 20 or so tickets. In turn he would grease the people in customer service hands with Red Sox, Patriots and other tickets either very cheap or for free. This type of stuff happened at probably every Ticketmaster location and Ticketmaster knew about it, they would send spies out once in an while to check and threaten the store with a suspension but never did anything more than that.

And I did also take advantage of this myself for Buffett tickets, they woudl always make sure they pulled Buffett tickets for me each time, as many as I wanted.

I remember TicketPro ....

and Next Ticketing, which did Great Woods for a few years.

I have not spoke to Jim Holtzman in a long time and I have no reason to deal with Ace Ticket, I have Red Sox season tickets and Buffett tickets are not too tough to get anymore.

That's during the time when the (rich and/or powerful) boys gather at Bohemian Grove.....

That said, Ram's Head would be a great place to see PMG!!

Bfan53again wrote:For years JB has confirmed many of the current year's concert dates by the end of February and we, the fans, have gotten spoiled and used to that. But, by doing so, it allows us to plan our vacations, have something to look forward to, and get those of us living in the northern climes through the last of our cold weather.

The fall in Australia was scary and we all are most grateful that JB seemed to bounce back rather quickly. But the present delay in confirming additional 2011 dates and the absence of any "official" word does create doubt and concern for many of us. Me included......

I can see no rational reason why JB or his organization couldn't post something on the M-ville web site about the situation, whatever the reason. If no more dates are planned, fine, say it. If more dates will be confirmed by such and such a date, fine, say it. If they just don't know what the h*ll is going on for 2011, fine, say it.

But to let your loyal fans simply hanging like this is in limbo is not like you, Mr. Buffett...... :o
Thanks, Ed, for saying what I've been thinking the last several weeks. Pages ago I said that I wish Margaritaville.com would address what's going on. If he isn't going to add any more dates to the schedule I'll deal with it. I just hate the waiting and not knowing if there's hope or not.

who have a real love for Jimmy. While we do get next to some of them, a lot are power drinking kids who have no clue who Jimmy really is who want the parking lot party. (not that that is a bad thing) but these are who get all the lawn seats. And then the older the real parrtoheads get they want the better pavillion seats and if they can't get them the skip the show
Growing Older but not Up
theparrot[/quote]
I can't agree with the above. Some of us who get lawn seats do so because we have two kids we're putting through college and two more close behind, among other things. My 2 nonparrothead kids also don't want to hear that they're spending our vacation going to a place they're not interested in so that we can hit a concert. As much as I LOVE Jimmy, my family comes first. That leaves us driving six hours to the closest concert, spending only one night and buying lawn seats to be able to save money but still be at the show. Also, at this point, I'm not about to skip a year when Jimmy is as close to retiring as he is. I'm fine with this, it was our choice to have a big family, but please don't tell me that I'm not a real parrothead for not buying pavillion seats.
