Nadirah just announced on Facebook that she won't be making it to MoTM this year.

Someone mentioned to me that a few posts ago she made a comment that she and Tina weren't being paid as much as the rest of the Reefers - I wonder why it wasn't an issue in previous years?

PHIP aren't paying her an equal share? I also noticed they already took her name off the schedule..that really $uck$

She's talking about her and Tina appearing at MoTM with Mac, Peter, Mike Utley and Robert Greenidge, not her deal with Jimmy.

To Nariah, I say "you go girl". I believe, for her, she's correct. She has a very popular cd out, is so talented and she can draw a crowd. I don't look at her as purely back up ( sorry Tina ). Her voice is so strong and beautiful that she should be paid well.
Generally speaking, women still get paid less then men...makes my blood boil.

OK, I'm not trying to start a fight here, I'm all for equal pay for equal work (I do have two daughters, ya know!) but . . . .

In no way am I downplaying Nadirah's and Tina's contributions, but there's a big difference between supplying vocal harmonies and playing in the band! Mr Utley is playing keyboards and singing, Mac is playing guitars and singing, Robert's on the pans and singing . . . . I don't know anything about the pay structure, and I don't know if the pay has anything to do with their gender, but the guys are doing a whole bunch more than the ladies! (Not because they're guys, because they're musicians.)

I understand what you're saying. However, at MOTM and other Reefer events, she is often the main singer, especially if Mac isn't there. When it's a Jimmy show, it's a different thing.
