The times we have been there, you have to walk through metal detectors, but they don't detect cameras. I wouldn't take a huge camera in, but something you can put in your pocket should be ok3PARROTHEADS wrote:Going to first J B concert in Las Vegas, wanted to know if cameras are allowed at the concert, not videos?? Just remember that if you do get caught with the camera then you may have a long way to go back to your room or someplace safe to store it...

Take a disposable if you've got a really nice camera and are staying a distance from the venue. That way it won't hurt to have to toss it

For whatever it's worth, at Alpine Valley last year they did allow simple point-and-shoot type cameras, and they (LiveNation) did send around an email saying so to those of us who had gotten our tickets through Ticketbastard.
You've got a couple of weeks before the show. It would be definitely worth your while to contact the people at the MGM Grand and ask.
And if they say "yes", then you've got time for them to shoot you an email or a fax so you've got something in writing.

Re: Camera at Las Vegas Show??
A small pocket size camera was allowed at the show last year.
Im in a quandry , do i make reservations and roll the bones on a ticket, I know they will be available up to the day of the show, or do i get my ticket first and then go . Im sorta banking on some of the higher priced tickets coming down to a manageble price, ,,, But this is Vegas, and the last show of the year ... But some money is better than no money to people holding tickets at showtime .. But its not like I will be in Oregon if Im in Vegas and cant get to the show , There are probably other things to do.
But i want to go and have the time off and airtran vouchers .. But dont want to spend 1000 bucks.. .
LOL

They let cameras in last year because there wasn't a JB show last yearCnsba wrote:A small pocket size camera was allowed at the show last year.

It's my understanding from someone I know that does promoting it's not up to the venue but rather the performer. That being said if I were standing behind someone trying to argue his point on his camera being allowed with the person manning the door holding everyone in line up I'd be rather pis$ed. A printed out email or fax isn't going to mean diddly squat to the person manning the door.
