Ga Ga calls fan

Post by Quint »

Every show Lady Ga Ga calls one fan in the audience on a cell phone. She chats with them, invites them up front for better seats, then offers them a backstage pass. Verizon donates 20K to Ga Ga's charity everytime she does this. So this is so cool for her to do for many reasons. I was going to post this in related artist, but I don't think Lady Ga Ga and Jimmy are related.

Remember the good old days when the performer just selected the hot girl he wanted to bang in the dressing room with out sponsorships? Come to think of it, remember the good old days when the performer on stage actually had talent?

Actually , compared to most pop singers she is very talented. She does write all of her own words and music. She has played piano since she was 4. AND... she really does sing live on stage. :)

I've been known to say take off an "a" and you have Gag. And it's mostly because of her appearance. I mean wearing meat. Really? WTF
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.

nice gimmick for her fans.
really can't diss her... she writes practically all her material, she's a talented multi-instrumentalist, and she doesn't really sell it with sex.
Her insane looking get-ups made me immediately think of 70's era David Bowie and Mick Jagger...they crack me up.

Now...compare that to Madonna...

I've only heard a snip of her music. I really need to put aside my issue with her appearance and give her a listen. Perhaps that's the issue I really have. If she's really as talented as everyone says she is, why rely on the gimmick?

I look at it this way. There's 300 million people in the USA. Let's say one out of 1000 can sing. That's
300 thousand. Out of that let's say one out of 1000 can sing really, really good. Enough to get paid for.
That's 300. Now try to name 300 really good performing artists. Not so easy. So you have to do something
outlandish and out of the ordinary sometimes to set you apart. To get into the public eye.
Anyway that's my humble opinion. :pirate:

I soooo love Lady Gaga! Shes amazing! And I wouldnt say she uses gimmicks... its her, its how she portrays her art. If you read some of her interviews and listen to her, shes always thinking in an artsy/vision sort of fashion. When she was getting ready for her last tour she had a dream about fireworks coming off of her back or something crazy like that and it had a symbolism behind it.. not that it was crazy and would catch everyones attention but it tied into the song and really drilled it home. Watch her videos... shes the main force behind all of them! She puts herself into them.. her emotions, her being.. its simply amazing. Even if you're not into her type of music... girls got some talent! :-)

oh ya.. and shes one sexy b****!

So can you suggest something for someone in my position to listen to? Just a song or two? Preferably a free stream or you tube?

While I would tend to agree with you, I don't think there are any guidelines in that forum.
