I read the families are suing for almost $1million per miner. That might cover any overtime. Glad to see them getting out safely though. Amazing story of strength, teamwork and the will to survive.big john wrote:...... Wonder if they get overtime

Did you see the guy who came up 21 or 22? His mistress was there but not his wife.
That would have been awkward.......

Yep! I just got off the phone with my daughter who spent a semester in Chile. She still is close to the family she lived with for 6 months. She said that it's next to impossible to get a divorce and in their culture men take mistresses. A wife may or may not know.ph4ever wrote:springparrot wrote:Carolinadreamin' wrote:23 is up.![]()

Yes/No Okay I realize the wife wasn't there because she's p i s s e d about the mistress HOWEVER in the culture there a mistress really isn't that uncommon. I would be willing to bet there's quite a few of the men have mistresses and that a few wives know about it.

Some of the Latinas I've known really don't care about the mistress because "I'm the wife and he brings home money to me" If I've heard that once I've heard it a thousand times. I've also known of families that would be upset if the mistress were brought around family gatherings. It's okay to have them but not around the family.Lightning Bolt wrote:Knowing many Latinos here in SD and in Baja CaliforniaCarolinadreamin' wrote:Yep! husbands taking a mistress (or mistresses) is practically the norm... it's a bit astonishing.. but that doesn't change the reality.
Originally they were supposed to take a half-hour up, a half down. So now that they have the route memorized, it is going faster.Lightning Bolt wrote:They're coming up at a rate of 1 each 30 minutes.
Should be wrapped up with with everybody out of the mine by 11:00 pm Eastern
