2010 MOTM Crying Thread

With all of the enthusiastic posts throughout BN about people's plans for the upcoming MOTM in Key West, I thought it might be good therapy for the rest of us to "cry" about not going........
Every year my wife and I talk about going and we never get around to it, like this year......so we're a bit in the dumps knowing that many BNers are getting packed for the trip.
That said, we wish everyone going a safe journey and fun times......those of us left behind will be expecting lots of stories and pictures!

I would almost kill to make this trip sometime. 2 things going against me. 1) The wife is not into Trop-Rock music. 2) My wife doesn't care much for big crowds.

I'm always a little envious reading the MOTM threads. But I'm in the same boat as Corona...my better half just isn't into it and with my job situation precarious we are really tightening up on vacation and play dollars.

In over 3 decades of Key Westing (perhaps two dozen trips) .... I have never been there during any crowded touristy, Buffetty time (MOTM, FantasyFest) .... always low key off season for me (read summer ... hot as hell but slower).
One of these days I'll make a MOTM ... maybe.

This will be my first MoTM to miss in a few years.
And I will definitely miss seeing my phriends ... but will do my best not to cry too much.

Nice to have some company as I daydream about the Keys........funny, but I never get tired of that place!
If you've never been there, well, you need to go sometime when you can......

We have friends who have retired to Ramrod Key and joined the KW PHC so they can assist in the festivties of MOTM this year. Like surfpirate posted, my wife and I have always visited in "non-peak" times (like April....and will be going back next April, too).
Hopefully, 2011 may permit a second trip for us during MOTM.......

She doesn't have a problem if I do Buffett concerts without her, and I do football roadtrips as well, but a trip to Key West...........that may be pushing it.
