I figured my friend might actually have a case since it's a Focus Feature, the same folks behind
Lost In Translation. Yes, they both have well known stars in them but they're from an independent film company. While I love popcorn munchin' blockbusters as much as the next person, it's these type of movies that stay with me longer. In fact, those two would have to be two of my very favorite movies from the past ten years or so.
It's an excellent movie with an incredibly original premise... something you don't get very often any more.
I just saw
Inside Job, a documentary on the current financial meltdown and current recession, narrated by Matt Damon.
While it's not a popcorn movie, it doesn't pull any punches for either side, and it ought to be required viewing for the American citizen.
When you walk out after seeing this, you'll certainly be more educated, more scared.... and madder than h&ll

I really enjoyed this. It had some very intense, edge of your seat moments which is exactly what I needed after the disappointment of
Pirate Radio.

I'll play along, just like I do on my movie site...
Last watched at home: Alien (blu-ray)
Last purchased: Kick-Ass (blu-ray)
Last in the theatre: Inception (on the last day it played in town...I
finally made it)
HI KK!!!!
(((((((~Hip)))))))!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I heard Inception was excellent! I'll have to see it when it comes out on DVD.
Easily the worst movie I've seen at the theaters in years. Buy the dvd. It would be a great beer coaster

I haven't been to the movies or rented very many in the past few years so I have a pretty large selection to choose from these days. I started with these last night:

You picked two AWESOME movies.
I had to see
Hot Tub TimeMachine after hearing so much about it, and was not disappointed (awesome movie).
I don't know how
KickASS got on our Netflix account but it was a great surprise (also awesome)...
Add
Hangover to your list and you have a TRIFECTA!

yeah, Kick-Ass was pretty good and I was thinking it would not be. And the sequel is coming.

Yep, haven't seen
Hangover,
Superbad or any of those movies so I'm looking forward to catching up.

The Proposal on DVD - yes it's a chick flick but it does have a scene with Sandra Bullock "mostly" naked....not a bad movie either for light entertainment

I bought it. I'm not a fan of chick flicks really (I like the action, adventure stuff), but I did like this one.

It's funny how different people's tastes can be...I wasn't wild about District 9

I don't think it's the best movie ever made or anything but as Sci Fi films go it stood out to me because it didn't stick to the usual plot devices.

Watched Pushing Tin with Billy Bob Thornton and John Cusack last night. It's been out awhile. I think I slept through a bit of it. It was entertaining though. They were both Air Traffic Controllers in the NY area.
Watched Leaves of Grass which is a Tim Blake Nelson movie. He and Ed Norton star in it. Think it was straight to DVD movie. I like both of these guys as actors. The movie had a few funny moments but wouldn't be my suggested movie if you only have time for one.

Jonah Hex

It was okay. Better than I thought it would be.
Grown Ups

It was okay. It certainly wasn't terrible. It had some funny parts.
I was entertained by both movies.
