This movie requires a major suspension of disbelief. If you're able to do that, it's actually quite enjoyable.

This epic tale of the last days of Jesse James isn't your typical shoot 'em up Western so anyone going into it expecting that type of movie should be forewarned. Instead, it's a detailed character study of the notorious outlaw and, as the title implies, it tells the story of how he meets his demise at the hands of Robert Ford. I didn't really know what to expect of the movie but at the same time I wasn't put off by the fact that it isn't a typical Western. It's full of beautiful cinematography and some outstanding acting from all parties involved. And yes, at over two hours long it can be a bit slow moving but I was never tempted to nod off. It told the largely untold story of Jesse James' last days very well.

This wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. It was much, much worse.

Continuing to catch up on movies I missed the first time around, I finally saw this one last night. I really knew next to nothing about it other than it was largely set in Vietnam (in reality only 1/3 of the movie takes place there, the rest of it is set in the U.S.). I also had no idea just how controversial it was for it's time. For whatever reason, way back when this movie was new I saw
Coming Home (even though it the edited for network television version) but never did see
The Deer Hunter. I'm glad I finally got around to watching it as it was a very intense and emotionally moving experience and features a performance from Robert DeNiro that earned him a well deserved reputation as one of the best actors, ever. This may even be his very best acting role, though he's far from alone in that as it also features great performances from his co-stars Meryl Streep (in probably her first major acting role), Christopher Walken (who won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor) and John Savage.

A lot of laugh out loud moments for me. The trio of Bateman, Sudeikis and Day were funny. Jennifer Aniston's character was......well played. Kevin Spacey was well cast in his role. I would have liked to see more of Jamie Foxx's character in the movie though.
Watched this movie last weekend - probably the first "laugh out loud" film I have seen since The Hangover.
Jamie Foxx's character was hilarious!

I did enjoy this but it was full of a lot of the touchy feely stuff that tends to turn me off to so much of the indie fare. There was one scene in particular where I felt like throwing sh*t at the screen because it was so f**king stupid and overwrought.

I saw this one at the show..... It wasn't the worse movie I had ever seen, not the best. The only good thing was you didn't have to think at all while watching it.

I would have preferred something more along the lines of this, or at least
Quest for Fire.

Don't waste your time & money on "30 Minutes or Less" or "Our Idiot Brother"

I've enjoyed most every movie I've ever seen from Focus Features and this was no exception but if anyone wants to elaborate on the ending, I'm all ears.
Since this one didn't have a description on the back cover I wasn't exactly sure what I was getting into but after reading a favorable review from a friend online, I thought I'd give it a shot. It was nothing I'd never seen before, especially as romantic comedies go but it was just different enough to be enjoyable and not overly predictable.

Strange movie full of all kinds of cool cinematography but with no real discernable plot. What little bit of plot there is folds in on itself towards the end and just adds to the confusion.
