Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"

For someone who can get claustrophobic at the drop of a hat, I feel bad for those people stuck on that ship. Yet another reason to not want to take a cruise anywhere!

SPAM AND POPTARTS?? Surely there was something slightly more nutritional available than that??!!
I thought of friend of mine was on that ship. Thankfully I got a message from her daughter today that they were on a different ship, phew!

Re: Carnival Splendor
Did they throw all the fresh fruit and vegetables, cereal, bread, peanut butter overboard? Why didn't they just start the BBQ grills on the Lido deck and grill up all the meat they had when the refridgerators went out? I haven't seen that they were bringing in water/ice. Hopefully these folks are either drunk or getting there. I would demand the opening of the wine cellar.
And SPAM when the toilets weren't working???? Who was in charge of that?

This Linda agrees with that Linda.
I wonder how many days they had on the ship with everything working before it all went to the handbasket ? No toilets ?
I'd jump. Although somebody said they were working again. At least they get their money back.

Re: Carnival Splendor
From what I understand the cruise started on Sunday and the fire happened at 6 am on Monday. The toilets weren't working for about 12 hours.......not good but not life threatening........probably just not "flushable".......you know......"end of a long tailgating concert day"........ickycitcat wrote:This Linda agrees with that Linda.

Re: Carnival Splendor
The bars have re-opened (yay), and passengers are scheduled to get a full refund and a free cruise at a later date.
They currently have cold water (not hot)- using the generators for emergency equipment etc. So no a/c, no hot showers, cold food that people are probalby scrambling over like crazy, sounds pretty miserable. I hope they get back to the US quick!
Passengers scheduled for next week's cancelled cruise get a full refund and a 25% discount on a future cruise.

Re: Carnival Splendor
Well I'm the type of person that if I'm not having fun or enjoying the vibe I leave from where I'm at. You can't leave a ship when it's at sea. Well you can but.......springparrot wrote:Larry won't go on a cruise---says he won't go anywhere he can't walk home fromph4ever wrote:This is now become another reason why I won't go on a cruise![]()
