We're flying into Ft. Lauderdale and spending the weekend in Key Largo before getting into Key West on Monday for Halloween. We've decided to get the rental car one way and fly out of Key West on the way home. Marilyn looked at the price of a rental car on the way back and the hotel we'd need to be close to the airport the night before our flight, and it actually works out to be the same price as enjoying an extra day in KW and flying home from there.

I think we're going to do exactly that! Fly into FLL on Saturday, see Scott Kirby in Key Largo , drive in for Halloween and fly home from KW! Yay!!!!!!

Thank you! Now waiting for Jet Blue to release flights for the dates. We usually get a good deal flying into Ft. Lauderdale. Looked at fares from NJ directly into KW and the prices are crazy and the times aren't great either.
Does Jet Blue go to KW?? I didn't think they had any connections.
No - we fly into FLL then drive. Actually, we cannot get any direct flights into KW. I will not fly prop planes and when I look at the Delta small jets that fly into KW it is way too much $$$$.

That's what I thought, thats why I usually fly to Ft Myers and take the ferry - I have friends there.

I would love to do that but the ferry leaves at 8:30 am so that means coming in the night before and since we have people watching our son I like to take as few days as possible.

Luckily there will also be a show in Paris in September, so the wait for our first overseas vacation (two weeks) AND MOTM won't be too long!

its a balmy 41 degrees already today! I plan on taking my lunch break in the college's parking lot with my tailgate wide open! (I think theres even a bottle of rum in there left over from last weekend! ahaha!!!). I'll be day dreaming about Duval and hanging with my buds!
