First off, I apologize if any similar posts like mine have been posted, but upon quickly looking, I couldn't find anything. I also apologize if this post is not in the correct section. If this is not the right place, please let me know where I should put it, and I will try to move it.
Now on to my question. I recently received the Cordless Margaritaville Margarita Maker as a gift. I have not opened it yet, as I am not certain it is the going to work out best for me. I am renovating my kitchen in my FL vacation house, and had planned on eventually getting a Margaritaville maker to grace my counter. I had been looking at the Fiji model mainly because the satin/stainless steel color will sort of match my kitchen. However, the cordless model would be nice for taking into the back yard. I have read that the cordless model doesn't make the drinks as well as the corded models. I guess what I am wondering is .... can anyone tell me what they believe is the best of the Margaritaville makers? When I am in FL, I drink margaritas often, so I am sure it will go to use. I just want to make sure I get the most bang for the buck. Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Question about Margaritaville Margarita Makers
I can't vouch for the corded one, only the corded one. When we first got it (mid-June, they were having a 50% off sale and I couldn't pass it up), it worked great! But the battery is already wearing down a bit. We generally made rounds on the weekends and once during the week. I don't know the shelf life of the battery, but it doesn't seem that long. We will probably limp by until JB comes to Mass. then get a new battery for tailgating. I don't know how big your backyard is, but the unit is pretty heavy. For us, it is easier to just walk into the house and make up another round and take the pitcher outside. If you make "3" drinks, it fills up our new JB margarita glasses once (nice big glasses). All that being said, I LOVE IT!

Re: Question about Margaritaville Margarita Makers
I have an original corded Margarita maker and it gets regular use and is blending along fine. Also have a battery "powered" non-Margaritaville blender. I've more or less stopped using it. I really don't think you can blend ice over time with a regular battery powered device. Just not enough juice unless you have the capability to constantly recharge (and then aren't you just "corded" anyhow?).
That does not include "creative" uses of car batteries in pre-concert tailgating. That I've done successfully.

Re: Question about Margaritaville Margarita Makers
I have both corded and battery powered. They both work great.
