Nadirah flung out her arms. There were no Parrotheads there, and it was nowhere near five o'clock; but she addressed all who might be dreaming of Margaritaville, and who were therefore nearer to him than you think: boys and girls in their flipflops, and half-naked wahines with their tiki lights hung from trees.
"Do you believe?" she cried.
Jimmy sat up in bed almost briskly to listen to his fate.
He fancied he heard answers in the affirmative, and then again he wasn't sure.
"What do you think?" he asked Nadirah.
"If you believe," she shouted to them, "clap your hands; don't let Jimmy die."
Many clapped.
Some didn't.
A few even hissed.
The clapping stopped suddenly; as if countless bouncers had rushed to their venues to see what on earth was happening; but already Jimmy was saved. First his voice grew strong, then he popped out of bed, then he was flashing through the room more merry and impudent than ever. He never thought of thanking those who believed, but he would have liked to get at the ones who had hissed
— with apologies to Sir James M. Barrie, who I think would have approved.....

Twas the show
Before Crittermas
And all through the house
Every critter was stirring
Even anonymouse
The microphones all soundchecked
From the sound board with care
In hopes
That James Buffett
Soon would be there
The critters were restless
And all on their feet
With visions of trop tunes
They danced by their seats
And mom in her grass skirt
And I in my bra,
Had just walked to our seats
Our emotions still raw
When out on the lawn
There arose such a ruckus
I sprang from my seat
To see what fuss was
Around by my seat
I turned, almost stuck,
Looked up at the lawn people
And said 'What the ....."
The moon on the breasts
Of the new concert virgins
....
..
.
(yeah .... okay ... so it's a work in progress)

No, Surf Pirate, there is no Jimmy Buffett. He is a figment of a concoction maker, equal parts Jerry Garcia and Bob Marley. But the good news, Virginia, is that there is a Santa Claus. Oh! Wait a minute. Jimmy Buffett was born on Christmas Day, and that means Jimmy Buffett is Santa Claus. No, Wait! Jimmy Buffett doesn't exist. Jerry Garcia. No, Bob Marley is Santa Claus. Yeah, that's the point of this post--Bob Marley is Santa Claus. Goodnight, everybody.

Please tell me the truth; is there a Jimmy Buffett?
