Jimmy's name was noted in two recent publications. In the January 2002 issue of Inside Triathlon, the opening paragraph to the review of Ironman Florida read:

"Panama City Beach is the jewel of what folks on the Florida Panahandle and Gulf Coast of Alabama call the Redneck Riviera. Its beaches, tropical climate and go-kart tracks, miniature golf and thrill rides make it a mecca for spring breakers and a refuge for aging Jimmy Buffett fans."

His name then appeared in the December 9, 2001 edition of the Chicago Tribune. In the Real Estate section and a column called "the Upper Bracket" the writer noted:

"Singer Jimmy Bufett has paid $205,000 for a 580-square-foot apartment in Palm Beach, according to the Palm Beach Post and confirmed by public records. The unit is his second purchase in the building since last December when he paid $350,000 for two adjoining apartments. The singer is reportedly using the apartments for his staff. He plans to remain in his 13,483-square-foot house in Palm Beach, which he bought for $4.4 million in 1994, according to public records."
