Arrived in Paris flawlessly, checked into the hotel. Now I'm thirsty, headin' down to Kitty in a few for a few...
Sorry Dutch, didn't realize you left a day earlier then I thought. But happy you got the list!
Have a safe nice trip all'y'all, see you soon!

Re: Who's going to Paris 2011 9-26-11 ??
Dear diary
Had a few at Kitty O' Sheas. Nice un- fancy Irish pub within crawling distance from the Olympia.
It's a bit off track but only some minutes walk from the Bd. des Capucines, L' Olympia.
They have Guiness, Murphys, Heineken and Strongbow cider on tap, plus a selection of bottled beers. And they have Bulmers!
That's a sweetish cider, very yummy! And they also have Bulmers pear cider! Even more yummy!
But it's not the place to have a good Tequila or even a Margarita...
Later we followed my usual routine when in a unknown big town: We walked. About three hours. To get the mood of Paris.
Was interesting.
Then dinner at (forgive me) Pizza Hut. No more Pizza Hut in Switzerland I know of so... Some fast food
I read there'd be live music at the Hard Rock Cafe, so we decided to go and have a look. Guess who we stumbled across outside?
Dutch Harbor PA and a friend of his with their lovely wifes. Paris is so small
We blocked the entrance for maybe an hour for a chat
Was a bit weird. Meeting someone by accident you have never seen before in your life, only read each others posts and PNs.
But since you have something in common there's an instant link somehow... The BN Family I'd say?
HRC was ok, the usual, but louder. Good local band.
Be warned, Paris is expensive! Two small beers and a soda was IIRC 15€...
Tomorrow we start with Montmartre and the Sacre Coeur.
See you soon here in Paris!

Mike,
You were lucky to not have choosen the HRC for dinner! Hamburgers (albeit large) where 16 euros....each! A couple of burgers, Nachos a margarita and a couple of beers later and were at 176 euros!!!! ouch!!!! back to Baggettes and sandwiches!!!!
Yes it is just the BN or greater Buffett family...... time and again you will run into someone that you have only read their post or perhaps bantered back and forth on the boards yet when you meet there is already some common ground.....always fun!!!! Really enjoyed talking last night....only wish I had some German to be able to talk with Irene!!!

One more reason we don't do the Hard Rock. Heck, in Baltimore that includes the muggers.dnw wrote:$237 dollars for 2 hamburgers, an order of nachos, 2 beers and a margarita?Ouch.
We'll be in the Tuileries Gardens with bottles of wine, baguettes, cheese, and Jimmy on the iPod speakers.

Finished packing and setting off for the airport hotel in Manchester to stay overnight for our flight tomorrow. Looking forward to meeting everyone in Paris. Think Roxane, Andy and Alan will be waiting for us in the bar across the road from the Queen Mary about 2'ish tomorrow.

Mike, if you go, you'll be saying "schmoopie" after you go to Uncle Jim's concert. IM4U!
