Well that only works if you're HOME, or not sound asleep.

We lock all the time and we live in a surburban small town. My wife is fanatical about this and generally makes sure she asked me if I locked all the doors if I'm the last one upstairs. We too have had issues around here over the last few years where people walk in off the street through an open garage door to grab a purse or anything they can quickly take from the kitchen.

We have two dogs - a 75 pound lab and a 12 pound Yorkie-poo. The lab would show someone the silver while the Yorkie would tear them a new one  Oh yea...I don't believe in having guns unlocked in our house but I do pack a Louisville Slugger

Growing up, I lived in the country. I don't remember ever worrying about locking the cars or house at night. In these times, and since I've lived in cities ever since college, I wouldn't dream of locking the door at night.

Lock. (My hubby is from Cleveland) Last week we had to go visit my sister since we had locked ourselves out. I also lock when I'm home. My best deterrent however is my next door neighbor who is a shut in. I've lived next door to these people since I was 5. No one comes or goes from my house without the knowledge of her or her caregiver.

Also our garage doesn't connect to the house, which solves that problem. But I would be sure to lock if it did. We have come home and found the garage door up when we know we put it down. I think too many garage doors are set to the same frequency.

no I just pryed the door in the garage with a flathead so I guess I don't really need a spare in there. My door in the garage did not come with a strong heavy duty doorknob like the front and back doors have. I'll replace it but haven't gotten around to it.

HINT: Keep your spare key in a stone or a rock, but keep it in your neighbor's yard.
