Did you have a grandmother, aunt, older brother who told you ridiculous things you kinda believed to keep you out of trouble? My grandmother was the queen of stories about somebody she knew. She knew a girl who used to cross her eyes all of the time and was doing it while jumping on the bed. She hit her head on the ceiling and her eyes got stuck that way. She also knew a girl who died while swinging on the old chain swings because she went too high and went up and over the bar and kept going, got the chain wrapped around her and was killed. There was a story for every stupid thing we wanted to do as kids. I could never quite the nerve to do it to mine. That's why they did so many dumb things.
