My husband tried to keep to a "beach theme" for me. In my sock - gummie sharks, foil wrapped tropical fish, Sunkist fruit gems, beach glass earrings, and cashew "turtles". My favorite gift from him was one of those multi picture frame things with pics of all of our kids on Anna Maria Island, and the two of us there for our 25th anniversary last year. It was so "me" so I LOVED it!

Spring must be right around the corner cause we just found this weekend the Ziplock food storage containers with tropical colored lids: blue, fuscia, orange and purple! There may be other colors but this is what that store carried.

Nice! The company I retired from made the Ziploc stuff for many years. The company they sold it to has done so much more with them!

Hi Nancy! Gotta admit I have collected several pieces of Ziplock over the years. One of my favorite pieces are the soup bowls. I mostly use them when I take soup for luch at work. Since you worked for a company that made Ziplock I'm sure you have some pices in you cabinets to. I also really like the Christmas/winter themes they do every year!
Really am liking the new summer colors. Will be very festive at any tailgate!

Go to your nearest bookstore and purchase a copy of CARIBBEAN TRAVEL LIFE magazine Jan/Feb 2012 edition.
On page 8 you will read an aritcle about our very own, Jack Terry who is now Rumologist for Tommy Bahama.
The article gives Jack's top 5 Rum picks. It gives some nice insight into Jack and his new position as well as an excellent photograph.

So we went to JC Penny's a couple nights ago to check out this new change they are doing to all their stores......We were not to
happy with it. To be quite honest I couldn't get a salesperson to really explain the changes to me. All I know for sure is that they are no longer going to have sales! An article we read about it said they are supposed to be keeping all the brand names together. We didn't see any of that yet. Everyone was just scurrying around with pricing guns changing prices. Regarding price signs: They are now listing appealing prices on their signs with "and up" in much smaller print belowe it. The racks of clothing we saw had more of the 'and up' prices on it than the large print attention getting prices. It left us with a bait and switch feeling.
From what we saw we figure they are able to lower prices because they are getting in a lot of new brands of merchandise. While the prices are lower we thought so was most of the quality of the new brands.
I did ask at Sephora cosmetics if they would be affected by the new change and they said NO!! Sephora would continue operating as they always have with the same quality, brands and prices. So I was greatly relieved to hear that.
Anyway, we did find that a nice amount of Spring/Summer flip flops are being displayed. We found several pairs of the brand, Mix It that had a tropical theme. Prices here are $14.99-$19.99 There were coral, turquoise and white decorated with either starfish or seashells.
I bought a couple pairs of this brand last year at Burlington Coat Factory for between $7.99-$9.99 a pair so I would check there
also if you are considering buying them.
When purchasing any flip flop/sandal I do want to encourage you to check out how the sole of the sandle is made. I got one pair last summer ( they were NOT MIX IT brand) that was glued on and it started to come apart after only wearing it one time!! Since that is a big safely hazzard please remember to check out the construction when making a purchase of any flip flop/sandal.

Was shopping at Burlington Coat Factory recently. Found the cutest hand painted wine glasses.
Brand: Milkasa
Pattern: Celebrations, 5 O'Clock Somewhere.
Size: 15 oz
Has hand painted: yellow polka dot bikini, surfboards, beach balls, sunglasses, flip flops, tropical drinks and summer flowers.
These are sold individually.
Price: $15.00 each
Would be great for anyone wo enjoys the tropical theme. Also a set of 2 or more along with a bottle of wine would be a nice wedding present or house warming gift! Would also make a nice gift basket for a PH club auction.

snicker, snicker. the lawn furniture, fertilizer, garden tools etc. have been set up at our Meijer stores for nearly a month.
I can't imagine that they sell even one bag of fertilizer, grass seed, etc. in Michigan for
months yet.
However the flip flop beach chair sounds pretty cute.
