Great story. Saw him on Today this morning. Matt and Meredith were completely charmed by him.

The good: he's got some job offers, including one from the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The bad: The Smoking Gun discovered that he's a convicted felon, with several other arrests for robbery, drug possession, etc.

I just hope this experience isn't too overwhelming for him.
I was married to an addict i know that attention and expectation can cause anxiety. If he is not surrounded and supported by an honest and caring group of people, he'll end up back where he began.
I saw him on Today this morning and it seems that he has worked the steps and has a firm grasp on the situation.
I wish him all the luck in the world... a very inspiring story.

Life is short... forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile.

He did say in the video that he was on drugs, addicted to alcohol and had "other things"chippewa wrote:The good: he's got some job offers, including one from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

I hope he makes it...

Oh, I agree, he definitely seemed a tad overwhelmed by it all. And he did discuss his record, he said non-violent offenses, theft, to support his drug habit. It seems he has served his time and sobered up so I hope he gets some sort of opportunity.Dancin'Queen wrote:I just hope this experience isn't too overwhelming for him.

I think I heard that he has been clean for 2 years.
With all these job offers coming in, and this sudden and intense attention, I worry that he is going to be taken advantage of by some person, organization or company that wants to get him with them for the publicity, and then does not help him cope with all that is being thrown at him. He is in a very vulnerable position right now, and it is far too easy for him to be taken advantage of.

Heard someone say he's already backed out of the Cleveland Cav's gig to accept a more lucrative deal with Miami Heat
Here's hoping for a successful "comeback" in 2011!
