The Red Sox were high on him and probably would of hired him if the Cubs didn't!!....he highly reguarded.....also when Theo hired Francona , people said the same and look what happened there!!

Seriously?
MILWAUKEE -- Baseball will be making major changes in the next two years -- adding two teams to the playoffs, moving the Houston Astros to the American League and extending interleague play to September.
The expanded playoffs could come as early as next year. That will put 10 teams in the postseason, requiring a new wild-card playoff round that probably will be one game, winner take all.
Baseball IS NOT Hockey!!!!

DETROIT -- In the end, the only question about the American League Cy Young Award was Justin Verlander's margin of victory. And it was unanimous.
The result was inevitable once Verlander captured the league's pitching Triple Crown. Tuesday was the coronation, making Verlander the Tigers' first Cy Young winner since Guillermo Hernandez in 1984, and the first Tigers starting pitcher to win it since Denny McLain in 1969.
The Angels' Jered Weaver was second in the voting, followed by James Shields of the Rays and CC Sabathia of the Yankees.

Verlander turns double play, wins AL MVP
Cy Young winner first starting pitcher to couple awards since '86
DETROIT -- Justin Verlander's case for winning the American League MVP is closed. His trophy case, on the other hand, had better be open, because he's going to need room.
With a no-hitter, an AL pitching Triple Crown and a Tigers division title on his resume, Verlander on Monday became the first starting pitcher in a quarter-century -- and the first Tiger since 1984 -- to win the AL Most Valuable Player Award, beating out former teammate Curtis Granderson and others for the league's highest individual honor.

Mighty season brings Braun NL MVP Award
Brewers slugger prevails over Kemp; Fielder finishes third
MILWAUKEE -- And now, a dose of tradition to follow a day of debate. Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun -- a prolific hitter from a contending team -- is the National League's Most Valuable Player.
Braun beat the Dodgers' Matt Kemp to become the first Brewer to win a league MVP award since Hall of Famer Robin Yount won for the second time in 1989, when Milwaukee was still an American League franchise.

Finally, finally, FINALLY.
The most gross injustice in all of proffesional sports has been righted.
Absolutely no excuse as to why it's taken so long.
It was reported on WGN news that Santo's close friend and former team mate, Hall of Fame outfielder Billy Williams, had a locked door meeting with the 16 member veterans committee to plead the case for his late team mate in hopes of getting him the 12 votes required for induction.
Santo received 15 of the 16 total votes.
FINALLY.

Ronnie already knew he belonged in the HOF. It is just those, pardon my french here.... Stuck up mother***ing a**sholes in the veterans committee who did not like him to see him get voted in while he was alive. Maybe it was the clicking of the heels or what not.
Ronnie said it best in 2003 i believe, while having his number retired at WRIGLEY FIELD, and having a flag of his number hoisted in the outfield, " THIS IS MY HALL OF FAME".
Ronnie, It is official now you are in, but in all of our hearts, you have always been a HOFer.
Yes I edited it for "family view"

Made me think of growing up playing pick up sandlot games and if you played 3rd base, who did you want to "be" at 3rd. Seriously, wasn't it a pretty short list? Santo or Robinson... later maybe Schmidt?

Finally, long overdue! Seattle's own!
The third Washingtonian to make it to the HOF, after Earl Averill (Cleveland) and Ryne Sandberg (another Cub.)

Here we go again...
ESPN first reported that Braun had tested positive, and that he'd provided a urine sample during the 2011 playoffs, then was informed of the positive result in late October. A source told ESPN the positive result came about from elevated levels of testosterone in Braun's system, and a subsequent test revealed the testosterone was synthetic.
Right under Bud's nose too

But he's denied it, of course

MVP last month, tested postive now. It never ends.
50 games unless he wins an appeal, which seems unlikely.

Always thought of him as a straight-up kind of guy. Guess I can call him a "stinking cheater" now.
Anyway, Phillies sign Dontrelle Willis to a one year contract to pitch out of the bullpen.
Agree with those above on Ron Santo. Should have been in years ago.....

Shocked when i heard that today!!!!...never even thought of them!!.....and he doesn't get along with or speaks to his father. So bringing up dads name in interviews , probably not a good thing!!
