I see the Chicago concert is set for July 23rd. It shouldn't be too long now before they announce our date (I hope!)

Out of town still. Surprised it has not been announced yet, been in regular contact with Jolena as to what I know, chatted with her last weekend, keep the faith, I can almost say that Hemingways Anniversary Party Weekend will be turned into a Finland event:-) At least I hope it will be!

Just checked in, appears that hold up in on Alpine side, should have something soon. Fingers crossed. Thanks to the phlock member who has been posting about the camping at Alpine, appears it is the hold up on dates being confirmed due to "conditions and requirements" for the camping tied into the music license permit. Was approved last Monday BUT "conditionals" waiting for approval.

Not sure what this means, but I just checked the Walworth County website and there is a Board of Supervisors meeting scheduled for tonight at 6:00. One of the agenda topics is changes to an ordinance related to parks and recreation. Maybe this whole Alpine camping topic will be discussed tonight, and this is the reason for the delay in announcing a confirmed date. Then again, the delay could be for another reason, too. If you are interested in seeing tonight's meeting agenda, here is the link (might have to copy & paste):

Let's hope there are no negative changes to the Alpine tailgating experience and that it will go on as it did last year. Despite the increased fees paid to enter and park early, last year went really well in terms of getting in there early and setting up. Now that we all know the drill, hopefully there will be less panic and rumors in 2011 about gates opening at 3:00, etc.

My first thought too - "There's two Tuesdays next week???" Does this mean something?
If we don't hear about Alpine before Monday, I'm on the phone Monday morning trying to get tickets for Detroit. This is getting ridiculous.

I'm just having flashbacks to 2005 when he played Wrigley.. there were rumored Alpine dates everywhere, but in the end he skipped it.

find it hard to believe he would skip Alpine, it's one of his personal favorite venues and he can sell nearly 40,000 tickets.

It is very typical for Alpine to be formally announced just before or shortly after the Chicagoland Tickets go on sale (scheduled for 3/14). The tactic is for Illinios to try to keep their fans in-state, when all of us know that Alpine is by FAR the best venue!

May be the people who are suppose to announce the date are up in Madison protesting or they are down in Illinios with their legislators?! Either way they are incommunicado!
