Ticket Buying Garbage

So ya can hate me if you want, but what i am seeing happen is total garbage... and its as bad as it was for the Gulf Shores show last year, by my account, every seat in the 3rd row of the center section of Tampa, is already on sale through a ticket broker.. So if there are no pre sales, and corporate sponsor give-aways are done through things like amex. How does every seat in section 2 row 3 end up on ticket broker websites...
The only reasonable explanation is, that there is a shill in Jimmy's company, who promises XXX companies XXX tickets in return for YYY services.. Who then with ZERO intention of using them , bids them out to the highest broker.
Makes me really mad...

try and buy one now, before they go on sale, and see what happens. You won't be given a specific seat. They'll tell you they have one (or more) near that request, but not until after the tix go on sale will you have actual seat numbers.
i used to work for an ampitheater, we had seats for 5,000, lawn for 15,000 more. When tickets went on sale, huge blocks of seats were no available because they had been given to/promised to any number of the following:
the performer, the production staff, the ticket agent, the radio stations, the upper management, blah blah blah.
Somebody is getting first crack at seats for Jimmy because they have (choose what's best) given money to the company, bought a seat license, works for a radio station that does advertising, knows someone who works for the facility, etc. They may not like Jimmy, so they have no problem making money off it by selling it through a broker.
Sucks worse than a vacuum cleaner, but it is what it is, and all the anger in the world ain't gonna change it.
On the bright side i congratulate you for starting the first ticket bitching thread of 2011. Hopefully the mods will make this the only such thread.

IMHO.. like it has been for every year I can remember. A shill??

There are always people who are 'season ticket holders' at a venue who have no interest in seeing Jimmy, and they sell those tix to a broker.

And believe me, if I was one of those season tix holders and say Justin Bieber was coming, those things would be in the hands of a broker before you could say "nice haircut"....

Same here! Although I'd probably give it to my seven year old neighbor - she's part of his fan base!

Or we could go off on the "This is Capitalism. Capitalism is good." discussion.
It's a variation of the "Jimmy is a businessperson. I don't have a problem with that." theme - but I doubt Jimmy knows (or cares) where the tickets go, so long as the seats are filled.

In the words of my old man, who used to take me to Wrestling at the Cleveland Convention Center or the Front Row, before I found out it was fake..... "Sean, as long as there is an A@@ every 18 inches, the wrestlers will do whatever it takes to fill them" .... As i asked why Sgt Slaughter could always beat the Iron Sheik.

Just wait a few weeks after they go on sale and the web sites quit telling you that the show is "sold out." Good seats will become available...trust me

Would BeiberNews have a mascot kinda like Buffettnews and BN Critters has Duckett. Maybe they have a heavy drinking, womanizing beaver named.......Beiver.

Jimmy's ticket sales have been weak the past 2 years. The economy is still bad so I wouldn't expect you to have too much trouble getting tickets to the show you desire. If you had you had your heart set on those specific seats then it truly is sad that you didn't have an opportunity to get them. If you are not too mad and decide to purchase other seats, I hope you enjoy the show.

Oh i will be there, and No i did not have my heart set on those particular seats, however I did hope to get something nice and close. (Or have a fair shot at it) . Not sure I agree on ticket sales being weak, he can still pack em in. The econ is rough this year though , and a lot of people on the fence, are not going with medical benefits almost universally going up, etc.
I will let ya'll know where we end up at 10:05 tomorrow. My guess is somewhere in section 3, row H or J, since in Tampa there is no row I.

Tell that to the people at Alpine who oversold the venue by over a thousand seats two years ago.

After all the years of buying JB tickets, this remains the single best way to get seats to any show...........
I try to get tickets when they first come out, if not, I wait.......and constantly check the site selling the seats. Alway, always, good seats (much better than the ones I usually get the first day) will become available.
Patience and persistence will get you your tickets........
P. S. As soon as JB announces a concert date at a favored location I reserve our motel room, too. If you wait, the rooms get booked and/or the price goes up....usually way up
