Very excited! Will be booking hotel downtown as well. Nice not to have to buy plane ticket this year. Curious to see what ticket prices are, but with no plane ticket it doesn't matter. Not a huge fan of the venue for this type of concert, but I'll figure something out. Will be curious to see location of any tailgate.

It's looking like 8 of us from the STL area are heading west. YAY!

(Truth is, I'm a Royals fan and love KC.)

Funny part is... JB is playing STL on May 3, but we can't go - our kids are in a concert at school. LOL.

So...

What's the word on pre-show festivities? Is parking lot partying do-able? Other locations?

My hope is that the city allows a 5 block area or something to be closed for tailgating purposes and allows open containers. With a special permit or something. Otherwise, it will be p&l pavilion.

Don't Count on this.... KC are pr!cks when it comes to working with crowds downtown... P&L hopefully will do it right. There is a Dress code for Power and Light also.. Not sure Our Parrothead attire will get you inside, but we are working on it. I have sent e-mails to all the Bar owners around the sprint center, my friend the Dep. Sheriff in KC is informing all the Cops about Parrotheads and how we act. My Friend is a MAJOR PArrothead and has been to 3-4 concerts with us. He is also meeting with some KC City Council members to see how they can welcome the Parrotheads...

You would think they would be accommodating, but you never know. Appreciate your efforts thus far!

One hopes that a certain Mr. Buffett has had his people having these talks already. The no tailgating was the reason, i've heard, he skipped STL so often and they now have loosened up, hence more shows!!! Or maybe it has something to to w/ AB/Landshark???!!!

Dress code??? Grass skirt and coconut bra!!! Deal with it!!! :pirate:

That code of conduct doesn't sound too bad...I survived growing up in my parents house, and that was MUCH WORSE!!! [smilie=asa.gif]

No I have never been to the P and L area...with the way JB has been so selective of his venues the last several years, i would be suprised if they are that bad!?!? I sure hope not anyway!!! Hey...my wine glass is ALWAYS half FULL!!!

Local station 980 a.m. KMBZ is doing a ticket giveaway contests all week. This morning was singing to the words of Cheeseburger in Paradise. Three people called in and had to sing the chorus. It was pathetic! They will be doing this all week at around 7 a.m. Central Time. I tried, but did not get through.

Lets get more real parrotheads on there to win tickets!!!!!! You can listen to the station live on the internet. http://player.streamtheworld.com/_playe ... r/?id=KMBZ

The number to call in is 913-576-7798

We will be trying all week! Good luck!

I wish I lived closer (used to live in Manhattan, KS) but I am sure Cheeseburger in Paradise/radio station will be having some kind of ticket give away in the next couple of months.

I heard that on the morning show as well. Guess they are worried about selling tickets? Wish I had presale info. Booked a room at the Westin crown center.
