Is there any other Funny Girl? I love her. I love her voice. I love that she was the one that "made people laugh". AND right now I even love that you described her as "nice legs, nose... not so much"...I just related to the character a lot.RinglingRingling wrote:With Barbra Streisand? nice legs, nose... not so muchmaid memories wrote:He was beautiful and in a very manly way. I should just buy a copy.ScarletB wrote:maid memories wrote:It always amazes me. We spend so much time planning and getting excited for these things. However, I am sitting at home drinking from a blue cup.
I'm watching "Singin in the Rain" hard to be in any kind of funk while watching Gene Kelly. He was a hunk.
I think I'm going to take a cue from you and watch some old movies tonight. I watched Funny Girl a couple of weeks ago and fell in love.
I'm still waiting for the question.RinglingRingling wrote:ok... gotta ask...maid memories wrote:It was glorious.RinglingRingling wrote: but was it good rum and tequila?

I will give you that. But early in her career, she hadn't really "grown into herself".tigzoe wrote:She was looking pretty darn good in the Prince of Tides!RinglingRingling wrote:With Barbra Streisand? nice legs, nose... not so muchmaid memories wrote:He was beautiful and in a very manly way. I've been known to do a little "Don't Rain on My Parade" at karaoke. There's a place about 5 blocks from my house, Lipstick Lounge, and it's very, um... show-tune friendly. I have to do it before I've had any alcohol and it just about wrecks my voice for the night, but I can belt it out once. It's one of my favorite things to sing. (Yes, I'm a karaoke nerd, but at least I have a bunch of friends who are as well.) Come to think of it, I want to see some parrothead karaoke in Key west.ScarletB wrote:maid memories wrote:Is there any other Funny Girl? I love her. I love her voice. I would KILL for her voice. That's one of my favorite sing along movies
Well, Dave gave me samples of several different kinds of rum on Friday and they were amazing, but I couldn't tell you what any of them were. Saturday it was mostly Sailor Jerry, which is smoother than Captain. The glorious part came after I'd had about a half-gallon of it.RinglingRingling wrote:what kind was itmaid memories wrote:I'm still waiting for the question.RinglingRingling wrote:ok... gotta ask...maid memories wrote:It was glorious.RinglingRingling wrote: but was it good rum and tequila?
Thank you for clarifying. I will now edit that post before somebody gets a hold of it.ScarletB wrote:Todd, she's talking rum here. Dave & Carol brought back a bunch of different vanilla rums from St Barts and were gracious enough to treat us to a tasting. YUM!!
There was some M'bolo, Ma Dou Dou but several that were made by different restaurants on the island like Wall House and Gloriette (MY personal fave!)

I forget which one it was but one of them had a strong, smoky aftertaste, almost to the point of feeling like I was sitting next to an overflowing ashtray.ScarletB wrote:Todd, she's talking rum here. I'm not 100% sure it was yours, it might have been one of the high end ones.MacPhin wrote:LIPH wrote:I forget which one it was but one of them had a strong, smoky aftertaste, almost to the point of feeling like I was sitting next to an overflowing ashtray.ScarletB wrote:Todd, she's talking rum here. Larry, that's weird because last night we had some with our neighbors and they didn't think that at all, either did Mar..
to each his own I guess.

Can you get Rum Jumbie anywhere is NH or in MA? I could really use a bottle for this weekend.
Thanks!
