Praying all those in the area of the terrible storms that ripped thru the St Louis area last night are safe. It appears Maryland Heights got hit along with Lambert airport and that's just for starters.

I second this thought. My friend on the Illinois side of the river said she was terrified and they were not in the storm's path. But even more selfishly, I hope Lambert is up and running again by next Monday so I can get in for the show on Tuesday.

I have to say I'm a little surprised nobody has said anything today. I know power is out but smartphones or other means...

News conference said Lamberts was an f2-f3 while an f4 hit nearby neighborhood.Much destruction but thank GOD no fatalities.A few flights have come in and they hoped a slim few might go out tonight but it could take months for repairs.The east terminal was spared I believe and think thats where Southwest flies.
So glad our good friends STL PARROTHEAD (Vicky) and Tom are ok.
Thoughts and prayers and phin power to those who are without homes and shelter and have lost belongings.

Thanks for the info. All in that area have been on my mind today. I hate bad storms and that one looked awful and it seems like St Louis is getting more rain today and tonight.

I was wondering about the Verizon Amphitheater since it is in Maryland Heights and I am aware that area may have been hit also.

Haven't heard of any damage to Verizon.Lambert hoping to be at 70% plus and better as days go by.Southwest is at 100%.

WOW...what a "fun" weekend! NOT...
I have many friends and relatives that are really close to several of the affected areas. Finally on Easter morning heard from all of them!! With the power out they couldn't charge their phones!! Heck...my brother lives across the highway from the Airport...but his house is fine...he even watched the whole thiong from his front porch! I didn't say my SMART brother! One friend is STILL without power.
My office is in Maryland Heights not too far from the Airport...Coming in this morning I saw many power trucks leaving a hotel and heading that way!

Prayers answered that there were no fatalities or even severe injuries!!

NOW...Let the concert planning begin!!

STL Parrot checking in...everything is okay with my family. We were traveling for the Easter weekend and were not in town on Friday night when all hell broke loose. Coming back home last night we swung past Verizon and did not see any visible damage there. We have some friends in the Bridgeton area that lost their detached garage and had trees, a swimming pool and swing set destroyed but the house is fine. I'll never understand how things like that happen with a tornado.

More storms are forecast for this week in STL...let's hope it's not a repeat of last week.

The weather channel girl with the perfect weather curl says...71 and sunny on May 3rd in STL. Let's hope she is right.

One week to go.

I'm keeping my fins crossed, hopeing the weather channel girl is right, Stl Parrot.
