I agree the parking couldn't have been worse. We are into the bus idea for sure!

Just a reminder that Swim Skinny is playing PizzaTime Saloon in West Point, PA Tonight. (Lansdale area) from 6-10pm. We'll be there around 7 or so.http://www.pizzatimesaloon.com/aboutus.html

I'm a realist...the over riding tone once the BS stopped was we had a good time.

What was with Rutgers using some part of the lots until 12:30? That's were the problem started.

I support looking at a bus but perhaps our carvavan strategy has to change. We can't keep 50 cars together through lots of lights and traffic. Maybe we need to assemble closer and figure out how and were we can line up to enter the lots when they open. Parked along the curb down under the bridge wasn't bad for the first 45 minutes it was a straight shot into the lots next to Cambell Field. If we all had been on that righthand curb in line most of us would have been in the same lot. Our "hang out time" could be under the Ben instead of the Crowne lot...miles from the venue.

Food for thought...

So much to say so little time.

The parking situation was a nightmare, I'm going to write a letter to the parking authority and Jimmy's management. Once we got settled in we had a great time. My only regret is that we weren't all together and that sucked. Some of our phriends we only get to see once a year, and that made a lot of us really sad. So glad some of you made it up to Lot #1 to join the party. I loved meeting Oahufish Lee and Angel, what wonderful new phriends :) Glad we had Janice and Shrinky hanging out with us for much of the day and that Jack and Stacey walked up to join us at the end of the day. We had a toast to Al, and we did take a BN photo, I'll post my pics shortly. I heard from Penny much of the day and she really wanted to be there with all of us, she even said that Al's spirit was down there in Florida with them and we really needed him in Camden to help us with the mess of the lots :(

I enjoyed the show, Jimmy sounded great, I could have done without a few songs, but it's all good... :)

We had a great time with our BN friends (even if our time together was cut short by 3 hours because of horrible time getting ito the lots).

We had a great set list.

We had a not-so-great time getting minor rear-ended in the parking lot after the show.

We love our BN PHRIENDS!!!
Hope you got the insurance info from the person who hit you!!
You mean the kid that just turned 21 in April driving his girlfriend's car because she seemed be unable to drive for some reason  In PA the accident stays with the driver meaning his insurance would be involved. However, in NJ the accident stays with the vehicle Owner. But we got the VIN and his driver's license # so it's up to our carrier to figure it out. He wants to handle privately which is fine until he figures out the damage (not yet appraised) is higher than he wants to pay. But, it's OK - no one hurt and both vehicles driveable. Just added to the drama of the day [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

There were a couple graduations in the area. Maybe not Rutgers U, could have been high schools using Rutgers facility. My kids graduated from Villanova (God that felt good to type!) when they graduated from HS.

Besides the parking mess, the Camden Police were pretty much AS* Hol*s. We weren't out of the car two minutes and they were harassing us about putting our drinks in cups. Walking to the show, they almost arrested my 25 y.o. son for having an open container. He apologized for forgetting and asked politely if he should finish it or throw it away. She (female cop) then became slightly irate and made him put his hands up against cop car. Luckliy, she did not fine or arrest him. BUT GET THIS, AS MY SON AND WIFE WERE WALKING AWAY FROM THE COP AND A SECURITY GUARD, THEY HEARD THE GUARD SAY "THANK GOD THIS IS THE LAST YEAR FOR BUFFETT IN CAMDEN" !!!!!!!!!!!

And there was sOOOOoooo much underage drinking going on in the lots and I didn' t see one cop going after any of them.
And to top it off, some jerk threw an empty beer battle in the lot and almost hit my son.

Now that I vented, it was a good show, enjoyed most of the day thoroughly.

A bus will be the way to go in the future, (if he comes back)

Hello Poconomon

I heard about the clusterf.ck yesterday. Sorry to hear it.
I will be definitely discussing it with them when it comes time for next year.

Hope you enjoyed the show.

I was really sorry I could not make it yesterday. But...a Bus is the way to go. We normally go on the Mango Men bus and have a blast!

A couple of things we've learned....

give out wristbands to the people on the bus - people will try to get on the bus to use the bathroom.
Don't leave valuable stuff on the bus for the same reason.
Last couple years we actually had someone on the bus cater the tailgate...but sounds like there are way too many cooks from BN to do that!
To avoid too many coolers, we chipped in for beer, soda, water and ice and then all brought coolers and stocked them all at the meeting place (best done in a mall parking lot)

AND...lastly but probably the most important:

If the luggage compartment under the bus is left open during the tailgate, make sure no one is passed out in there before closing the compartment door!!!!  [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

Two problems with that. We lost quality tiem sitting in our cars. No matter where we are sitting that sucks. At least in a bus we can drink enjoy each others company and AC. Use bathroom.

For the most part we were together as we approached the lot's but cars in the left lane went to lot 1 and cars in the right lane went to lot 11. I had a bus or mobile home next to me that they made turn in to 11 from left lane. There was nothing we could do.

We will not tailgate in Camden again unless we get a bus....

My friend Lou was arrested. Spent the entire concert in the cop car cuz he did not have ID.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE SINGLE COP ID ONE SINGLE PERSON EVER in Camden

But they sure as hell go after those dangerous EZ Ups! And single out certain people with open containers...

I love it :) I too sent my note to the band, I am sure he will hear plenty about the lots... Great job Jack :)

Thanks Andy, already sent my note to the parking authority and my contact with the band. I guess I'll add the mayor, although I am not sure why.

Here's our pics, they are on fb too :)

The plus side of a "You'll have enough time to watch the movie Titanic while waiting for us to get our collective heads out of our singular a$$ as we formulate a (lack of) parking policy" situation?

Hi Everybody,

I just took a "read" of the Camden thread.

OMG & WTF?

It sounds like an almost complete nightmare!

If I read things correctly........

Not only were there REALLY bad parking issues with the lots such that 3 hours of tailgating was lost......and everyone from BN was seperated and unable to park next to each other as usual for the last decade or so....

But the police were giving everybody a REALLY hard time about drinking anything....even in a cup?

I wonder if drinking water was a problem too.

& they were arresting people as well for litttle if any reason other then being at there and "jacking" them up on police cars?

This was the first year in 13 years that Gypsie Girl & I were too sick to make the concert and it sounds like it was for the best!

Sure hope I read the thread wrong and all had a great time but it sure doesn't read that way!

I'm still dealing with Diverticulitis, a fever and lots of pain in my side and have a GI specialist doctor appt tonight at 7pm.

Our sweet Gypsie Girl, as most of you know has been dealing with a REALLY bad upper respiratory infection for the last 7 months, after a work related trip to Omaha, Nebraska.

She has seen her PCP, an allergist, an immunologist, a pulmonologist, had X-Rays, CT scans with and without contrast multiple sets of bloodwork, an ultrasound of her entire chest......

She found a lump after the ultrasound and now needs more testing regarding that!

And regarding this breathing problem....

Now she needs to have 2 more tests and possibly a P.E.T. scan!

Then the last option is to go to an infectious disease doctor at Temple or Jefferson.

Someone like "Dr. Greg House" on TV.

So we are both ill to say the least and freaked about her lump and breathing problems!

So we just wanted to check in and hope that the JB concert was not the nightmare it sounds like!

Miss and love you all!

Mick The Pirate & Gypsie Girl
