"Going into cotton balls" I will have to remember that one!
Thanks for all the updates Jenny! I am also glad he is relatively OK in the grand scheme of things. if the NZ show does go on, I can only imagine all the new material that will come out of it. regardless, still keeping my fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

Thanks - it was rather traumatic. I was on such a high having met him before the show and giving the man a hug. There was many "ridiculous" statements circulating through the crowd as we were leaving that he was dead .. how would anyone know. I was just sick on the stomach - but surely not as much as his family and loved ones would have been. Glad he is ok .... .. phew ...

I can't help but think about Natascha Richardson and I'm so glad he had no choice but to go to the hospital and stay put for a while
That's what I was thinking about. I forgot her name, but remember an actress who had died after a head injury. You don't want to slosh the brain around too much. At Jimmy's age, he can't take too many cannon balls or floor falls.

Yep they have discussed that on the news today - what happened to her. From what we can gather- there was a lot of blood - so I am guessing he had no choice but to go ...

He has just left the hospital and is in good spirits - but been told to get a lot of rest.

I think it was actually good that the crowd stayed at the venue for a while so EMTs could get in quickly without dealing with traffic. Knowing how it it here after a show, the parking lot can get pretty congested.

Very true! If I remember correctly any head injury bleeds A LOT! And it must be big news if our little itty bitty news station in Maine is going to discuss the story.

That's good to hear. Too bad for Kiwis, though.

Yes I said to my friend "do we stay or leave - what if they need an ambulance to get in quickly" .. the promoter who came on was quite rude - the way he spoke pretty much accused us of just 'gawking" - we were in shock and did nnot know what to do. Everyone (well except for one or two idiots that tried to go up and look) kept their distance and let the people that needed to get access to Jimmy.

Yeah, the promoter guy didn't seem to realize that Jimmy's fans were just concerned. It's not like anyone was going to rush forward to the stage. I don't know how traffic is at that venue, but I wonder if they would have quickly pushed out the crowd at a show in the states. Traffic after an Atlanta show is a mess at the venue.

I was thinking today if there was another time Jimmy had an accident while on tour- I couldn't think of a time
Rest up jimmy- we are looking for a fun long summer.

AS it was a public holiday and there had been a lot of road closures - there was not much traffic on the roads last night. I personally thought it better to keep us indoors than people out in cars and on the streets blocking the way. It was dark - we could not see ... so leave us there together as a group.

I heard about this at work today when my Parrothead boss interrupted my very important meeting to tell me the news...we spent the rest of the day looking for updates...Fortunately, the vendor I was dealing with was wearing a parrot lapel pin on her suit jacket, and that was when I found out she too is a Phan...the meeting turned to crap, and I spent the rest of the time showing her my ticket stubs and photos on my board behind my desk...prayers for Jimmy Buffett...

From a friend on FB, the stitches were from a cut on his arm. And my news called it a "World Tour." Never thought of it that way.

I was working at home and immediately called the manager of my branch (who got me started on this in the first place) I kept her updated as the day went on. Amazing how many people are fans.
