I know how much you and others in Sydney were looking forward to these shows....

Thanks - it was rather traumatic. I was on such a high having met him before the show and giving the man a hug. There was many "ridiculous" statements circulating through the crowd as we were leaving that he was dead .. how would anyone know. I was just sick on the stomach - but surely not as much as his family and loved ones would have been. Glad he is ok .... .. phew ...

Met him and gave him a hug, wow, did you post details?

((((Jenny)))) a day of highs and lows...
My thoughts too Jeannie. How awesome for her was it to meet him, AND get to hug him?!?!!!? I am jealous!! But then to witness the fall, wow, definately highs and lows.
Days like this remind me how important it is to get back to what is meaningful...Like this community. I used to be a regular here about 9 years ago, but space and time took me away...and now today all I want to do is get back to what this community, and Jimmy himself have meant to me for all these years. My thoughts and prayers are with all the other Parrotheads out there, as well as (OBVIOUSLY) for Jimmy...He's the one that managed to bring so many of us together, and I for one can say that he gives me a little bit of peace in a rather insane world. To think that before I heard the news today the most important thing to me was checking to see if Mansfield, MA dates had been posted yet. I hope Jimmy recovers well from this accident, even if that means taking time off...I don't know about the rest of you but I know that I have already been to so many shows that even though I would be totally bummin' without a summer tour, I would rather know that he is getting better...
I think he'll be better in time for the summer tour but I hope he follows doctors orders!

He's going to need to be careful that when/if he does have symptoms (headache, nausea, dizziness, fogginess, memory loss), to do very little and rest. This includes even watching TV, surfing the net, or reading. There is new protocol for kids with concussions due to sports and they are finding it applies to adults too. I've seen kids with post-concussion syndrome for 6 months after the fact because they didn't follow instructions. I feel for the NZ pholks but I really hope he does that concert only if he is feeling fabulous.....which I know is slight given the circumstances. Just the noise factor is huge. I would make him pinkie swear to return though......

Love that we have a resident nurse. Too bad you can't fly over there and make sure he behaves!!
I'm totally up for it!

How much harder could it be.......I take care of 800 teenagers.......

If you have to sit on him to keep him still just call me if you need help! I have lots of vacation time!

Hoping this means he's better than we think and that the doctors approve.

It was so nice after wondering and worrying all day to come home and read about it from a fan and someone that was there. Thanks Jenny!
And if you girls need even more help holding him down, sit on him, lay on him or just hold him!! I'm ready and willing to do whatever it takes to help him recover!

Seems from all indicators our beloved leader will be alright. What a jolt to the Parrothead Nation. We can easily forget how fragile life is- until in just moments our hold on it is challenged.
This harkens back to another famous scare old-timers will recall ...August 25th, 1994 - when Jimmy crashed his Grumman G-44 Widgeon while attempting to takeoff out of Nantucket, Massachusetts. He survived..hallelujah.. and then some. Keep on truckin' Bubba!
Hope your recovery is speedy and without complications. Our prayers are with you !

I read in one of the pre-concert interviews that he was planning on staying on in Australia another 10 days for some R and R. Maybe he thinks that he can get through the 3 hour show and then have the 10 days to recover. Even so...
