BUT: THIS IS WHY THE COCONUT TELEGRAPH IS BETTER THAN "REGULAR" NEWS:CNN was reporting he'd fallen from the stage at one point yesterday, but didn't have any details. At that point, I already knew what the injury was and that he expected be released from the hospital the next day.

Yesterday was crazy... FALSE info was flying around..TMZ had even reported that he had died....glad I had the "real" JB network to check in with....love the Coconut Telegraph

TMZ (finally) cleared that link ...... it was up for about 6 hours. Dambed irresponsibly stupid.
Last year a few *legit* news organizations gave them kudos for being the first to break the story
and report that Michael Jackson had died.
Unfortunately that seems to have emboldened them into believing they are a *legit* news service
and they do things like this.
Hell ..... it was dambed funny (almost) watching all the competing Buffett News/World/Info/other sites
*break* with the exact same tweets and updates all day long
*scooping* each other by retweeting at about the same time what they found
on Uncle Jim's, Nadirah's, Miles, JD Spradlin's, Radio Margaritaville, etc. etc.
FB pages and Twitter accounts.
Got to be a little silly after a while.

I mentioned this in the other thread regarding the 'media frenzy'. What is interesting is just how many phans are really out there. In my circle/network I barely know anyone who keeps up with JB as much as I do...so when I saw it create a spike on news readership across the financial markets, I was pleasently surprised!
From yesterday: FWIW, the news made whats called a "Readspike" on the Bloomberg Terminal today. That means that one of the first wires that came out this morning on the story crossed 500 users on the Bloomberg across 50 firms in 5 minutes globally. (We monitor news readership here to what is going on in the markets. Typically 'readspikes' are 90% Financial related in nature.) All my non-PH friends were msging me all day about it. Made for an interesting morning!
On an 'average' day (read: days that Lehman doesn't collapse) there are maybe 15-20 spikes through the trading day. So seeing him on this list makes me smile! Thankfully he'll be ok!

Barely - have you seen the footage of where Hugh Jackman (sp?) zip-lined into the stadium to suprise the crowd when she was there and ran face first into a lighting pole? Ouch.
We also were also unfortunately on the verge of a media frenzy here. I was on the MSC that morning and jumped over to the Jimmy Discussion area where I found the post about Jimmy falling from the stage and wondering if he's okay. The second post from a guy named Matt listed all these probable injuries including a fractured wrist, fractured knee, and on and on. I went back to the MSC and told them what I had read and said I hoped it was a joke then had to leave for work. I was a wreck when I tried to get back onto BN to see what was going on but couldn't. I just checked that second post again and see that he's edited his "diagnosis" out of it thankfully.
I've been getting calls, texts and emails for two days now too since everyone knows about my obsession. The funniest was a guy who said he'd been named the head of the "Donate to Jimmy's Medical Expenses" fund. Just send him your money and he'd see to it that it's well spent! Happy and thankful that it's ending well.
