Jimmy...A Bohemian?

OK...So I'm watching that conspiracy show on the History Channel tonight, Brad Meltzer's Decoded. Tonights episode is about San Francisco's Bohemian Club and the secretive summer encampments held for the last 120 years on a large privide estate in Monte Rio, California. Now the show's main purporse is to "dive" into mystery and show all of us how we have been duped by the government our entire life....from that standpoint the show didn't disappoint I guess.
As I'm watching this show they finally get to the "secret" membership list that an anonymous source has given them. The guy states that "200 of the world's wealthiest and most powerful men are on this list"....Presidents, cabinet members, corporate power brokers, AND JIMMY BUFFETT.
I didn't know this "secret fact" but then again I never heard of the Bohemian Club before tonight.

Weather this is true or not...we all know that Jimmy isn't at any secret encampment in the middle of the summer...he spends several nights a week with 30,000 of his closest friends.

Yupper. I've heard this before. According to my quick Google search, Zac Brown was JB's guest not too long ago. Here's partial list although most of these guys are already dead. Interesting group of folks, including Herman Wouk.

Yes, indeed. He has been a member for a number of years and makes the annual summer trek to the camps in July. He has been known to entertain on occasion.

Checked it out on Wikipedia. That "Cremation of Care" ceremony sounds like something I'd like to include in my next Parrothead phlocking — invite everybody to write down their biggest worry on a popsicle stick, then pile them up on the charcoal and symbolically burn them away as we start the grills to cook up the cheesburgers.

I saw that show last night too.
I thought it rather odd that they were so determined to tresspass on the property, especially since it wasn't when anything was going on there. What on earth did they expect to see???? A bunch of trees?
The membership list is certainly eclectic.

Bohemianism is the practice of an unconventional lifestyle, often in the company of like-minded people, with few permanent ties, involving musical, artistic or literary pursuits. In this context, Bohemians can be wanderers, adventurers, or vagabonds.
From Wikipedia
Yeah, let's go with that.

He pretty much takes off a month every summer with no shows.
http://unhypnotize.com/nwo-new-world-or ... grove.html
In recent years, an annual talent show has been staged by grove employees for their fellow workers. One year a club member took time to watch the show and later asked to hand out the award to the winning group.
“It was Jimmy Buffett,” Oggero said. He recalled that “the kids just went nuts,” and the entertainer went on to serenade them with “Margaritaville.”
I've seen a list where Walter Cronkite was a former member. That might explain how those two ever became friends. And Herman Wouk, as mentioned above.

Think back to Crossroads. During one of the "talking" sessions Zac and Jimmy talk about how Jimmy met Zac when he was "sitting around a camp fire", that Zac and band had walked up a hill to meet them and that while there were actually only 10 or so people there the rumors were now that there were hundreds. Hmmmm.....

Ditto - I've been back to listening to Jimmy, what with the start of concert season and the events of this week and I heard that and it rang a bell with me too.

So THAT'S where Jimmy is in July....I always wondered.
I was thinking he went to St. Bart's.
