If you could, would you please go the this site and vote for Grand Marais, MI? It is a Reader's Digest contest that they are trying to win to repair their breakwall. This lovely harbor is filling in due to breakwall built by the Army Corp of Engineers that is no longer maintained due to lack of funding. They are currently in first place with two days left and would love to win the $40,000 grant.

This harbor was used by many boaters as a safe haven during Lake Superior's storms. And, if your ever get the chance, visit grand Marais it is truly a lovely place.

I LOVE this picture!

Tom and I were chased by a snow storm one year as we traveled back across the UP. We stopped at Grand Marais and watched it come in. It was really spectacular.

The Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore (that Dr Corona mentioned) is close by and is absolutely lovely.
