Due to the predicted impact of Hurricane Irene and forcasted high
sustained winds and heavy rain for the DC Metro area, Live Nation is announcing the postponement of the Jimmy Buffett & The Coral Reefer Band concert scheduled for Saturday August 27th at Jiffy Lube Live. The concert has been rescheduled to take place on Thursday, September 1st. All tickets purchased for the postponed concert will be honored on the new date.
Yeah, I thought of that also. Lazy I am....chippewa wrote:It's also at margaritaville.com
Whoa! That is cool. Of course, I bet they will keep the surcharge. In fact, I know they will.klemmer35 wrote:From the same link:

If you cannot make the new date, refunds are available at the point of purchase, starting Monday.

While I'm sure they have to work with the artist, this makes it sound like it was Live Nation's/JLL call to make.Live Nation is announcing the postponement....
Fixed it for ya......drunkpirate66 wrote:I have 7 friends who were going to head down from Rhode Island. They can't get cancel their hotel reservation. Wonder why they waited until the last minute? Jimmy Buffett knows perfectly well people book airfare, hotels, train tickets, etc. months ahead of time. Why not give these people atleast 48 hours? It was obvious that the concert was a huge risk 4 days ago. He could've announced this yesterday and saved people a ton of money. Its all part of the business, I guess.
If you're checking in today for the show tomorrow, 24 hour cancelation was yesterday.....TommyBahama wrote:u usually have up to 24 hours to cancel a reservation.....unless they got a deal where they had to pay full amount up front..
i'm guessing it's the only open date that works with both...don't think it's a reason to screw tailgatersklemmer35 wrote:Guaranteed.Hockey Mon wrote:Whoa! That is cool. Of course, I bet they will keep the surcharge. In fact, I know they will.klemmer35 wrote:From the same link:

While this can be see as a referendum on the tailgating policy, i think they conveniently left themselves an out by scheduling it on a Thursday.
This is the one I'm really sorry about missing....surfpirate wrote:Still no word on Mac McAnally's show at the State Theatre in Falls Church on Sunday.
Sunday will be the day of flooding and power outages in the area. Plus logistically,
I'm not sure how Mac and friends schedules will be impacted since they now
don't have to be in town until Thursday for Jimmy's show at JLL.
true...wasn't thinking today...was thinking tomorrow night!!!......but you figure , with the weather coming they would accomadate the change...especially if most were going to the Sept 1 show and book rooms with them...i'd call coorporate on that one.SchoolGirlHeart wrote:If you're checking in today for the show tomorrow, 24 hour cancelation was yesterday.....TommyBahama wrote:u usually have up to 24 hours to cancel a reservation.....unless they got a deal where they had to pay full amount up front..
