Because of a different date they had to offer refunds -no way around it -boy a lot of people are happy now!!!!

While this can be see as a referendum on the tailgating policy, i think they conveniently left themselves an out by scheduling it on a Thursday.

I have 6 friends who were going to head down from Rhode Island. They can't get cancel their hotel reservation. Wonder why they waited until the last minute? Jimmy Buffett knows perfectly well people book airfare, hotels, train tickets, etc. months ahead of time. Why not give these people atleast 48 hours? It was obvious that the concert was a huge risk 4 days ago. He could've announced this yesterday and saved people a ton of money. Its all part of the business, I guess.

While I'm sure they have to work with the artist, this makes it sound like it was Live Nation's/JLL call to make.

u usually have up to 24 hours to cancel a reservation.....unless they got a deal where they had to pay full amount up front..

true...wasn't thinking today...was thinking tomorrow night!!!......but you figure , with the weather coming they would accomadate the change...especially if most were going to the Sept 1 show and book rooms with them...i'd call coorporate on that one.

I didn't look at that angle. My thinking was that JLL/LN can now spin it so that it appears the small crowd will be due to the midweek date as opposed to the number of refunds they issue to those they issue as a result of protesting the tailgating ban.

Glad I didn't sell my tickets for $9 on stub hub like a lot of other people...
