Sorry, I was being snarky. Everybody was mad that they bought tickets only to find out later that there would be no tailgating allowed. The PR nightmare for the venue has left them wildly unpopular with campaigns to boycott the venue and their concessions. Kid Rock spoke out against the venue's policy and openly said he won't come back. When the hurricane forced the rescheduling of this show, it proved that the fans are unhappy. Tickets were returned en masse. Yes, some has to do with it being on a weekday, but there's no way that accounts for this much of a switch. Buffett ticket holders got the opportunity to show what they truly think of the tailgating ban and they took advantage of it.

I am fully aware of what has transpired with the tailgate ban being announced after ticket sales and I too am p*** off about it, but I thought about it and told myself I was still going to go and have fun as I love Jimmy's music. I understand and completely respect those that decided to say FU to the Lube, I guess I just didn't think it would in the volume that it is.

Despite the ban, I'm going anyway as well. I didn't pay for my tickets, so I couldn't have gotten my money back even if I wanted to. Because of the situation, they also have essentially no resale value. But, if they did, I'd certainly have taken the opportunity to unload my tickets in favor of better seats. Regardless, I personally would still go regardless.

We (PA Parrot & I) purchased tickets to the 8/27 show way back when. We had the best and most expensive seats we've had for any Buffett Show - 20th row center stage. To say we were bummed when they came printed with a "NO TAILGATING" provision is an understatement. But, we booked a hotel for 2 nights and had plans to meet other BNers at our hotel pool to at least catch up from last year and meet some new friends before the show. We were already on our way to VA when we found out the show was being moved to 9/1. At least we got the John Prine concert in on Friday night so our trip was not wasted. Plus we got to hang out with SP and Mrs. SP [smilie=battingeyes.gif] Since we've were privileged to see Jimmy at Great Woods & Camden already this year there was no way we were taking off 2 more days of work and traveling back to VA 5 days after we got home. The No Tailgating issued sealed the deal for us and we got our $$ back.

Just checked in to Holiday Inn Manassas. It's raining here! I guess we're heading to the show around 4:30.

Keep an eye out for me. I'll be the jackass wearing the cheeseburger hat and the BN rainbow lanyard.

Looking at the local radar, that small band of showers should pass and we will have clear sailing for tonight.

Now, I could just say "just read up to the word jackass and stop there". But I won't. :) I think I'm getting a bit antsy and excited about the show.

T-munus 30 till I leave work. T-minus 90 or so till I hit the road for Bristow. With rush hour on 66 and the disasterous roads over there, probably T-minus 330 until I get there.

Based on all your post on here today, I think you mentally left work hours ago, LOL! Good luck with the traffic.

Personally, I was never there. I'm leaving work @ 4ish and leaving my house at 4:30ish.

Yup. Long suffering fan, but a fan nonetheless. I play too. And I'm actually missing a game tonight. Such dedication to Buffett... :)

Leaving work. Just went through the thread and redlined the call list. Including myself, I have what appears to be 4 confirmed, 6 backed out, 3 never posted anything indicating one way or the other after rescheduling and I can't figure out who the heck one of them is. I believe Phrankbama said he's coming, so that makes 5 confirmed. Sad turnout this year. I'll have fun regardless.

See you on the other side.

Rock on! I'm out to. I'll be out on the lawn somewhere. Or in the pav if I can upgrade/sneak me and my friends in.
