Questions about JB that bother me so.....

Well, it's not like I lose sleep over these........
But, if I could sit Jimmy down over a beer or two, here are some questions I'd like to ask him:
> Why on your 2005 Salty Piece of Land tour did you not play "A Salty Piece of Land"?
> Why have you never performed "Altered Boy" live (ever according to Miles Hampton on RM)? Granted, this song might not lend itself well to a full concert setting, but could work in one of your more intimate acoustic performances somewhere, right?
> Do you have plans to write an autobiography some day?
> Would you like to adopt a 58-year old fan? (Hey, it's worth a shot if I have JB one-on-one........

)
What are some questions you'd like to ask The Man??????

Dear Mr. Buffett,
1. What is on your I-Pod?
2. What area of the OBX do you prefer?
3. What famous person do you most admire?

I think I'd lose it, if Jimmy was playing in my back yard too.

A Pirate Looks At 50 was first person anectdotal (sp?) .... and included some bits and pieces about his life, but I would not consider to be an autobiography.

Didn't Steve Eng's unauthorized bio of JB begin with a letter from JB asking Eng not to write the book because JB is planning writing an autobiography when he's 86?

I forgot about that.......
Hey, Jimmy, another question (taken from another posting of mine on another thread): Since the possibility of an Atlantic City, NJ M-ville now appears officially kaput, why no plans for another in the Baltimore-Washington-Philadelphia area????? We all promise that if you build it, we will come........

Personally, I think the key to any conversation with Jimmy is to not ask the normal questions. For me, the idea would be to get him to sit down and have a beer with me AGAIN, instead of a one-beer-then-run-like-hell scenario. I actually did run into Jimmy once (on the beach in Anguilla) and nobody in our little group started shouting questions at him. We talked to him just like you would when you meet anyone strolling down the beach and he seemed to appreciate it. For me, sitting in a bar with Jimmy just shooting the sh!t about life in general would be much better than having a bucket list of questions for him. I've found in life that if you start a decent conversation with someone, eventually you'll get all the answers you are looking for.

That's fine and I think all would agree .... but play along with the intent of this thread ... curious questions that would be nice to know the answers.

I have a couple of questions about surfing in your sixties.
Board preferences and a sincere interest in the Green Tomato.

Probably topics that Jimmy would enjoy talking about. I could talk sailing and boats with him all day long and I think that's a conversation we would both enjoy. The point of my post is that Jimmy is a guy who any one of us could very well sit down and have a beer with. However, that ain't gonna happen if you're bugging him about the set list.
In the spirit of cooperation with the thread: "Hey Jimmy, did Bono cry like a little girl when the Jamaican SWAT team opened fire on you?"

Now THAT'S funny !
I'd ask him personal questions, probably. Like are you healing ok, did you get a concussion, and who are your best friends and how are your kids and did Jane freak out when she heard you fell off the stage...??
So it's a good thing I won't be having a beer with him.
