Last Saturday, while we were at the Tampa tailgate and even before we were treated to the incredible set list, we decided to go to Atlanta. We pulled Sec 103, 20th row so we grabbed them. Can't wait for the show. I hope he keeps playing the old songs from older albums.

Yes. From Live Nation. Can't beat the seats. We'll be heading up early that morning so we can tailgate also. I'll look from you.

Does anyone know what time the lots should be opening this year? I know in the past, they have said 1:00 but have opened at noon or so. I have heard the cops there mention that it was the Mayor's call on the opening time. Since we have a new Mayor, I wonder if this may change.

I hardly believe that the mayor has time to make such a call, but someone with the city probably does. All things being equal I'd guess 11 or 12-ish. The Atlanta Parrothead club has posted that they will set up around 11 when the gates open.

I've got tickets to Zac Brown tomorrow and I got a cool email from the amphitheater that gives all kinds of info including gate and parking lot opening times, what to bring and what not to bring, nearby restaurants, directions, it was real informative. :pirate:

Just checked livenation and they've gone to an interactive seating chart where you can see what's available and where the seats are. Geeze! The backs of 203 and 205 have hardly a soul and the side sections are only half full. There's going to be some real cheap seats in the parking lot... :pirate:

Oh, and it also looks like the reserved uncovered seats in sections 201 and 207 are going for $48.50 including fees. :pirate:

Anybody familiar with Lakewood in Atlanta...PLEASE HELP!

We are from Memphis and are not familiar with anything about Atlanta. I would like to know where the best place is to set-up for tailgating. We will have a pop-up tent and plan to put up a portable tiki bar and maybe a small pool. While a huge fan, my first concert was last year in St. Louis (Jimmy hasn't been in Memphis since 1995, and I refuse to go see JB in an indoor arena (Nashville)). I'm bringing 2 girl friends and I need advice on the best parking lot and what time to try to arrive to get a good spot.

Free Boat Drinks to whoever can offer up some good information or tips!

First off, hopefully you stayed dry during the recent high-water event in Memphis, sure looked bad. Secondly, appologies to the Atlanta Parrothead Club for stealing their info. Google their website and go to their calander. On the May 24th listing for the Buffett show they have a link for more info and on that link there is a map of where they will be setup. It's in the gravel lots where most people will be and where campers, trailers, and other large vehicles park. To get to this lot get on Lakewood Freeway (166) east until it deadends, this is just east of 75/85 south of downtown Atlanta. At the deadend you'll have to go left onto Lakewood Avenue, the entrance to the gravel lots is less that one-eighth of a mile on the left just past the first light. Cost for cars has been $20 and bigger vehicles something like $30. There will be porta-johns but thats about the only service there. A few years ago someone found a water faucet and was using a large trash can to carry water to their pool but I don't know where that faucet is.

Lots'll open around noon but people will park along the street earlier to get the party started.

What else can I bore you with? They'll be selling t-shirts in the parking lot, the guys walking around will have unofficial ones that are cheap and cost too much. An official booth will be setup near the entrance to the amphitheater and they will have good ones that cost too much. Police work the lot but are easy going if you behave yourself. Sometimes they are on horseback and people put leis on the ponys.

There are private lots along the streets, they are further from the entrance but easier to get out of after the show. Not sure of the cost there. People are generally friendly and will share, a lot of blenders and smoothie machines will be turning. Stay away from the "chair of death", shots of tequilla will shorten your afternoon quickly! Just my own personal pet-peeve, bring trash bags and actually use them. The parking lot has a tendency to become a real mess and I don't understand why someone will walk past a trash container to drop their empty on the ground.

Most importantly, have fun! :pirate:

Oh, and if anyone sticks a squirt gun in your face and says "Here, open wide!" don't. It's probably filled with warm tiquilla cause they've been carrying it around the parking lot all afternoon. I don't know about you but tequilla warmed in the Georgia sun just, well, just doesn't sit well on the stomach.

I'm going to be down there around 11ish. Look for a Jeep with a fin on top, a row of boat penants including the Terrible Towel, and some other assorted silly nautically related stuff. :pirate:
