hmmmm

trying to decide whether to wait till later/cooler and bake some russian tea cake cookies to bring. I already have a batch of orange sour cream cookies.

Other option is to break out the blender this afternoon and make some salsa with herbs from my herb garden. I could pick up some Beaveton Tavern tortilla chips to go with it.....

anybody have a strong preference???

Copying this from the tailgating tips thread so that nobody misses it...

But a frozen bottle of water is not a liquid, is it? :pirate:

I'm sucking it up! The tailgate planning is in FULL effect. Hopefully my party of 20 or so comes through on the request that EVERYONE bring extra ice/water-filled coolers.

I've got the canopy, kiddie pool, beach umbrella, spray bottle fan. I'm going to try the mister set up from the other thread. I bought the chilly pads. I'll have extra outfits, icy cold spray sunscreen, we're bringing a power convertor and a fan too. I pray we end up in the grass. I also have a tent and porta potty (no woods for us). Pull out out the car paint, have the theme figured out.

Some last minute shopping, and hopes of clouds and maybe some quick early rain to cool us off......

Rain is bad, it's hot enough at this point that it'll just make it soupy out.

It is ironic as ICE is allowed inside the venue......

But you have to leave behind you pickle and mustard jars. (if glass)

not to start a whole other diversion in this thread regarding the influence of Mr. Buffett, but I remember being at his concerts in other years when it was very hot and the rumor was that he asked them to allow fans to bring in unopened bottles of water due to the heat and our propensity to play hard in the parking lots. Now, whether he actually did that or if that was a decision of the venue, I don't know. I know I took in a couple of bottles and was glad I could.

This is several years ago, back in the days when we were hoping he would come back around and would every few years or so.

Oh, and as a side note, we just got done walking in our local town parade. The route is about a mile and 1/2 and even though I had tons of water with me I still have a slight head ache and am drenched. We were only out in the heat for two hours. I'm getting two more cases of water to add to the ones I already have for tomorrow.

I participated in the Reese Endeavor Garden Walk today. :o I did water at each stop and had a water bottle for in between. I seem to have survived ok.

It is quarter to 10 and is still 88 degrees here. :o

I'm hoping we have enough liquids.

HAPPY BUFFETT DAY ALL!!

it is toasty outside to say the least :) Couldn't sleep last night, ended up just giving up and getting up at 4:30 so I'll be exhausted by the time we get home in the wee hours of tomorrow morning (I love teetering on the Thin Line between one night and the next morning!)

Safe travels to all and hopefully we will see you during some point in the tailgate. We are heading out a bit later planning to be near the park and ride by 2 p.m. We figure we will end up in the strip mall area across the street since the Park and Ride will most likely be full.

:)

Hope we get to meet this year. We will prolly not arrive until around 3:30 and will go straight to the lot.

I got up at 5:45 and watered our new landscaping. Boy can we pick the year to have new tender plants to coddle.

2:00 pm seems to be the estimated time of arrival according to my Limo driver (unless I get impatient & travel solo.) Will try to accomplish a few things here at work  before rolling out. Have a safe trip ALL!!!

No s*** on the new plants to water thing! I've got an entire new hardy subtropicals garden, complete with little palms and a banana! They love this stuff, though.
We're not leaving till a bit later for the Park n Ride either. CIP was quite fun last night. 'You had to be there!'
In this heat always remember our fellow Parrotheads in the lot may not be as wise as us, okay? Watch out for dumb people and save a life if you can. Bring water around if you decide to stroll, in case anyone needs a shower. Pour on the head
first.
See you there! Bright yellow Escape with Welcome to Finland signs on the doors!
