Re: Who's going to Virginia Beach 5/26?
Its been a while since I have tried the Saturday morning ticket buying "luck of the draw" experience. Has the website improved for actually getting tickets or would I be best served by going to the venue box office? My location is Virginia Beach. Thanks!

The venue will probably be doing a lottery. Best bet is to locate a brick-and-mortar TM outlet (check ahead to make sure they will have tickets and whether they too will be doing a lottery).arwssw wrote:Its been a while since I have tried the Saturday morning ticket buying "luck of the draw" experience. You were right, the venue itself is holding a lottery. Thanks for making me think to ask!

Thanks for the great tip! I'm in Downtown Norfolk and stopped by my local TM this afternoon to scope it out. No lottery and doors open at 7 to start waiting.

What a fiasco!!!! I tried Live Nation online at 10 am constantly refreshing also dialing by phone at the same time. I kept getting the tickets not available at this time until about 10:10 am. Finallly got on and requested 8 lawns with wait of 10 minutes. Continued calling by phone as well. Got through on phone while computer was on wait. Tried to get 8 by phone with no luck so I lowered order to 2 lawns by phone. Phone order went through for 2 lawns. Two minutes later online request failed for 8. Glad to have the 2 tickets. Moral to the story the Fred Flinestone way wins out out over technology ever once in a while.

Hey Clintster, you are not alone! My sister is running into the same problem. As of right now, she is without tickets...I tried from here in case it was a local thing, but still no dice. I'll let her know others are having trouble as well. This kind of stuff really makes it painful to pay their "convenience fee"Clintster7 wrote:What a fiasco!!!! Re: Who's going to Virginia Beach 5/26?
Was first in line at my "secret" TM at 7 am....but apparently TM has a rule about doing a lottery.
Ended about about 20th # called...but my fellow Parrotheads are SO AWESOME that the first person chosen offered to let me go first, and everyone agreed!!!
Got my tix for section 103, G 1-4. I can't express enough appreciation to everyone that was so generous, and I hope they all were fortunate to get their tix. I hope to see lots of you there, and keep your Fins crossed for Bristow!

That is awesome. Congratulations on the good fortune to have lottery #1 person and the next 19 as well do that for you!obxmama11 wrote:Was first in line at my "secret" TM at 7 am....but apparently TM has a rule about doing a lottery.Ended about about 20th # called...but my fellow Parrotheads are SO AWESOME that the first person chosen offered to let me go first, and everyone agreed!!!

p.s. celebrate your good fortune by voting for NASCARITAVILLE (see below) and telling everyone you know to do the same today and tomorrow.

WTF is an appropriate name for the tour....finally got thru at 20 after 10, last row of the pavillon. $314 for this I don't think so. Tickets always become available a couple of weeks before the show that are much better. 7th row at Bristow 2 years ago, that is the new plan this year.

Re: Who's going to Virginia Beach 5/26?
You're very very lucky that the people you were in line with weren't ticket brokers. Several years ago, we had a "secret" TM to buy tix. The last time I was there it was me, two other regular folks and 10 ticket broker "workers".......needless to say we were barely in the pavilionobxmama11 wrote:Was first in line at my "secret" TM at 7 am....but apparently TM has a rule about doing a lottery.Ended about about 20th # called...but my fellow Parrotheads are SO AWESOME that the first person chosen offered to let me go first, and everyone agreed!!!

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"

Well Tm has posted a temp charge to my credit card...good sign my 2 tickets went through. I always worry about when dealing with an automated machine on the phone.

Re: Who's going to Virginia Beach 5/26?
So far, it doesn't seem like the folks at the venue have any intention of doing anything any differently for this show than any other. No early or overnight parking, no tailgating, no fun allowed. I'm beginning to remember why JB concerts weren't nearly as much fun in VB as elsewhere....
But I'll still be there, of course!
