The block party doesn't start until 11:00. That's when the bars downtown will all start to open. I plan on being down there by then. It's kind of impossible to judge the crowd trend by last year because of the storm that day.

If anybody is downtown and wants breakfast before they get started there's a great place at 5th and Church called Puckett's Grocery. They open at 7:00 a.m. and liquor laws say they can start serving alcohol at 8:00 a.m.

For anybody who is in town earlier today. Mike Broward will be playing at Margaritaville Nashville today from 1-5 in the Chill Bar. I'll see if I can convince my office to survive without me for a while this afternoon.

CANCELLED Mike's gigs at Margaritaville have been cancelled and he will not be performing there Friday May 27. (or any dates in the near future) Mike is still on the Margaritaville calendar but I have talked to Mike and he has changed his calendar http://www.musicmike.net/tourdates.html
Somebody please tell Margaritaville to book some parrothead bands I (and talking to some others who feel the same way) think Mike Broward was the only musician playing there that did "our" type of music. It may be in Nashville Tn but h*** it's also Margaritaville for crying out loud.

Capn Rick and Tracie from the Memphis PHC will be departing Memfrika at 1:00 eta Renaissance Hotel 4:00 p.m. or so. Am bringing life raft and paddles off boat, just in case.

Thanks for the info. I haven't been to Puckett's downtown, just the one out at Leipers Fork.
I guess we'll show up at the street party around 10:30 and see how it goes!

Hah! I looked it up in the state guidelines for liquor by the drink service. Puckett's is amazing. I think their shrimp n' grits came straight from heaven.

We just left Margaritaville! We said HI to Doyle!!!! He was going up elevator with music equipment!!!!! COOL!!!! DON'T WANT THIS WEEKEND TO END!!!

We're here. I'll be the slight overweight, middle-aged guy with the Aloha shirt tomorrow night.

Just got home from the Peter Mayer and friends show at Margaritaville
It was great as usual and as a bonus Club Trini came along for the show.

The show went well but Margaritaville sure could use some ceiling fans and/or lots better air circulation and air conditioning upstairs if they are gonna put that many pholks in there at one time. It was really hot up there and some pholks went outside for a while or left early.

There's got to be something else going on up there. I worked in that building for years and we never had problems, but lord have mercy was it warm tonight.

I did run into SGH and Comtnfish. It was such a great time. I can't wait to catch up with them today. The show was great. They did have a little sound problem and I swear it wasn't my fault even though I was standing infront of the sound board
