After listening to tonight's concert, and its amazing setlist, I can't wait for Jimmy to get to Chicago!!!!!

Beautiful Friday in Chicago today.

hello everyone...... made it back on here. don't know for how long. looking forward to the show. i need it. but don't we all?

Hey all - I've never been to the Chicago show; can someone give me the rundown? What's the venue like? How is the tailgating? What are the best seats to get (doesn't look like there's a lawn??)? How does it comepare to somewhere like Alpine Valley or Great Woods? i.e. is it worth going and should I start planning now?

Venue is essentially a soccer stadium, with a smaller sized parking lot. Some of the minuses are that you're packed in like sardines because of the limited parking, and you need to get there early to secure a spot in the first couple of rows (probably 9:30ish on the morning of the concert would probably work best...)

But there's ample sanitation facilities, the security is rather on the hang loose, more concerned with safety than disrupting the party (like they're doing at JiffyLube, unless I've heard otherwise...)

It's a show I go to every year (and not just because it's my "home" stadium)... Lots of nice BN'ers will be there to help you celebrate

My opinion..... tailgatting is good depends if you are looking to participate in the circus, Matt who posts here puts on a hell of a tailgate in itself. I mean really!!!
We have had floor seats (never again unless you can score realllll close) They tie the chairs together and well that just doesn't work when you have 4 300+ pounders in a row. And it wasn't US. They spilled into my seat. LOL We stood anyway when the show started.
We won tickets that were up in the highest point and they actually weren't that bad/I would consider them again, they are better than in the back of the venue
Nothing can compare to Alpine...... agree that security is great and they are very organized on getting your tail out of the venue. Great group of hotels close by too for a price.

I like Chicago. Easy to get to and out of

OD TAPO IMI will be prefoming the next evening at Navy Pier. I'm DEFINATELY in.

Still looking for a concert ticket, though I have a major conflict that day--a memorial in South Bend for a college friend of mine--got to figure out what I am going to do about all of this!

I never left, Ellen. I just haven't been posting as much due to increased work demands. During August & September, I'll probably be posting even less-lots of out of town trips coming up for me, courtesy of my boss.

I don't know. But I am coming with a friend from here who is in our P.H. club, and when I told him I was going to the game with you & suggested he come along, he said he may just try for a game ticket at the box office on the day of the game. He said if he's NOT able to get a ticket, he'll just watch the game on TV from one of the bars in the area, which, knowing him, is a very distinct possibility. (PROBABILITY). (Most likely it'll be Murphy's Bleachers or Sluggers).

Well, the concert is at 8:00 PM, wouldn't the memorial be over with by then? It just wouldn't be the same without you in the parking lot, but, of course, everybody would understand if your friend's services kept you from attending.

Also Randy (my friend) and I are talking about going to Margaritaville on Sunday and to see OD TAPO IMI. (Both at Navy Pier).
Would you be up for that?
