Taxes
If you fill out the paperwork, get appropriate stamps and pay the taxes, all booze can be legal. (Except where it isn't ever legal)

Exactly. That's why it took so long to have the ability to buy alcohol over the internet here.

Way back in the day when I was 18, the drinking age in PA was (and still is) 21.
But in Maryland you could buy beer and wine if you were 18. We were about 40 miles
from the Mason-Dixon line so we would occasionly make "border runs" and get a few
cases and bring them back to PA. If you were caught you were screwed. :pirate:

Actually we did this before the "Smokey and the Bandit" movies came out. :pirate:

My friends in SC sent me a birthday present, and it made it in one piece.
not technically, no. It is illegal... but somehow, some have magically shown up on my doorstep in a postal service box.

Can you take it as carry on?
 not carry on anymore.. since the Aug. 10th bombing attempt.
a few years back.. Before that?? I took some Rum and gin into
Denver..

I have an insulated beach bag. that zips closed (thanks DIRECTV) I carry some bubble
wrap and a couple of "old" shirts as I said.. we "all" do it..
I just wondered if we stood a chance of getting the hammer dropped.

for me it's stuff I can't get in Idaho.. (Jumby!!) so I have no issue
with bringing my own.. also on the way out I get a few mini's
so that I have something to drink at the hotel..

that never happened..

i don't know for sure but i would guess that TSA has no desire to enforce state liquor laws. their job is to monitor safety and security and that gives them more than enough on their plate. and their concern over booze greater than 140 proof is because it is highly flamable

:o The KY/TN state line is one mile from my house. And the only hard liquor stores are in Kentucky. So I carry it over the state line quite frequently. I'm within an hour of four states where I live. Within 2 hours of 7 states. If it were illegal to carry liquor over those lines, a lot of people would be in trouble. :o
Hey, if something were illegal in one state, I just go to another !!! :D Not that I DO anything illegal, 'cause I don't. [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

Y'all live in some messed up places. When I want to drink, I get in my happy little car, drive to the liquor store (any day of the week, and buy beer, wine, liquor or whatever I want. Then I get back in my happy little car and go home and drink it.

If you purchase liquor outside of the State of Utah and then bring it into the state, you are violating the state laws. This is because the state is counting on your tax dollars, since there is a minimum mark up of 67% on the price plus a hefty tax added to the liquor sold in the State Liquor stores. Utah will go so far as to sending police officers into the neighboring states to observe Utahans purchasing liquor in Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona and Nevada. Then when the citizen drives back into Utah, the police pull them over, cite them and take the booze.
