Personally I would rather go in October again.
That would be consistant with Jimmy showing up for grand openings like when the Las Vegas M'ville opened......... hope he still does October though....having grown up in that august heat I have no desire to return that time of year.....
That block party in August would be brutal. Although it's a "dry heat" Here's one more hoping for October instead of August date.

Dry heat and you bake, humid heat and you stew . . . either way, you're cooked!
No Vegas for me in August but I'm up for October!

A while ago when we were stationed at the National Training Center, CA (Ft. Irwin - a true garden spot [smilie=nope.gif] ), we decided to take the kids to Vegas in July. We really didn't have a huge choice in the time and we lived in the desert anyway.....so off we went.

Coming back to our hotel at 12:30 AM after an evening out, we discovered the temperature was 104 degrees. :o
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"

The Parrot Dice Lounge kinda like a mirage. Here today and gone tomorrow. You should stop by and say hello when visiting Chicago on tour.

It would be consistent but JB doesn't always show up at the Grand Openings. If it is August, it would have to be the first two weekends of the month.
I would say he may play Labor Day Weekend, but if he does, it wouldn't be at MGM. They already have Sade and John Legend booked for that Saturday night.
DUTCH: Bringing some Buffett and Vegas Virgins this year. So you can imagine, they're Grog Virgins as well.
Take care my friend and we'll see you soon!!!

Please, PLEASE for all of you thinking of booking the Flamingo. It is a GREAT hotel IF you are a player with a history OR are willing to pay for a GO room. Please read TripAdvisor and other sites for reviews. Booking the cheapest room will get you a "deluxe" room left over from 1980. It is old and you will not be happy. The GO room are updated with new TV's, TV's in the bathroom and much more. Also if a strip view means something to you, you also need to pay more.

Vegas is a wonderful Buffett experience, until you're in the MGM arena. Then it's just another arena show. But the pre-partying and post-partying in Vegas are unforgettable! [smilie=asa.gif]

Actually the Concert is kinda a rest period between parties.......

Concur with Dutch on the rest period and with Congobill on the no better spot for Parrothead parties, activities, etc.
As for the "just another arena show" comment, I've always liked to think JB lets a little more out of the tank in Vegas. I know that was the case last year. The energy level was through the roof and he commented on it. Plus, it's always a great show when Dutch and his Bering Sea buddies get a shout out!!!

The last time I was in Vegas I spent over $4k to attend one of my BFFs wedding. It was July and her 8pm wedding was a breezy 104 degrees. Hubby got a MRSA infection on his face and we had to walk from the Flamingo to the MGM (Walgreens) to get a prescription. The pavement was so hot it practically scalded our legs.

She divorced a little over a year later.

I Love Vegas in August...I'm probably one of the weird ones, but I've actually walked in 106 degree heat from Paris Casino to the Hilton....
The weekend in Vegas is the best as far as parties go... plenty of good ones this time around.. but the weekends going to be a 4 day trip from now on....

Too Damn Hot in August

Post by karat »

Did Vegas in June it was 116 that year...no thank you. Kind of ticked that would be August.

Hoping that the rumor is incorrect.... Keep October!! Besides, who knows when the building will be done. Work can halt for any reason these days....

Grams, I will be in Vegas in October, 20-25 or something like that.... Mom is set on it. So be it. Doing MOTM this year.....
