Jones Beach Sales S-L-O-W...

Tix for Jones Beach...a Friday night in mid-August...went on sale about a hour and a half ago, and the first mezzinine has not even sold out. That is demonstratively slow for a JB show on Long Island. It certainly means that ticket "brokers" are more or less out of the game this year, and a good number of people are going to wait this one out. I picked up a seat five rows back dead center without much problem this morning; that has never happened before (at least not to me).

Could part of the reason be the lack of big newspaper ads? The shows have been announced so haphazardly...usually there are big color full page ads prior to the sale date. I don't know what was in the NY area papers but in Boston for the GW show I only saw one small ad announcing the show and it was AFTER they went on sale.

I may be wrong, but it seems to me that JB has never had a problem selling out Long Island at breakneck speed without newspaper ads.

Maybe people finally got tired of paying inflated prices for basically the same show they've been seeing for the last 10 years.

Not that I'm going but I did pull that section up too - just for grins. What is that gray space in front of Sec D?

OK if I'd gotten a REALLY good seat I may have considered it!

Thanks, but for me to figure out a way to make this feasible I'd have to be closer than Row V - I'm a terrible seat snob! But I'm still curious about Row N behind whatever that gray thing is on the seat map.

The gray area is used for wheelchairs.
If you were to sit in D or any seat on the left side Jimmy enters and exits along that way. Has shaked many hands on the way out.

OHHHH I DO wish you hadn't told me that!! :D
One more question, do you happen to know what letter that row STARTS with?
(This is not good)

I think section D starts with either row G or H. I've been in that section the last 2 years, right on the outside aisle where the band leaves the stage.

Shook Jimmy's hand 2 years ago. Last year a lot of people in my row left before the show ended, venue security told me they didn't mind if I took pictures but I couldn't stand next to the metal police barricade as the band was leaving. They made me move in a couple of seats. They were bigger than I am so I listened to them.

The Jones Beach show is 5 months away, do not worry if you did not get tickets. Usually throughout the summer, you will see random drops of tickets. I pulled up a pair in the orchestra earlier this morning, but no way I am spending $180 for a ticket. The best bet is to keep checking, I ended up with seats a month before the show in the mid section for $100 a ticket which is more reasonable.
