Thanks!
I've read this whole thread and I still don't really understand the VIP parking pass. 2 Questions: Does having this pass allow access to the good/big lot at Noon? And if so, are we supposed to bypass the mile-long traffic line that's always there?

Thanks for explaining.
The VIP Parking Pass allows you to park in the VIP Parking lot which is the closest lot to the front gates. This allows you a guaranteed spot close to the theatre, regardless of the time you arrive, avoiding longer walks from the other parking lots. Also, you are able to exit via a different exit than most other lots which generally allows for quicker exit times after the show has ended. VIP Parking should enter at the main theatre entrance only (not at the Green Lot or Yellow Lot entrances). Unfortunately, it doesn't do anything to guide you through traffic before the show and you would still need to pay the early entry fee. Also, oversize vehicles cannot park in the VIP lot as it is not designed for heavier vehicles like busses, RVs, etc. Hope that helps to explain things.

Brian, is that still you?? :D :D
Yep, I'mmmm baaack and watch for me in the lots, at the gates, and in the theatre for the show. Look for me on a black ATV cruising around.
No kidding??? Well I'll be! How the heck are ya, Brian?!?! Can't wait to see you again!

I think this is a pretty spiffy thing you're doing on Wednesday night! I'd so be there if I lived a little closer, and didn't have other plans! I hope some local BNers take advantage of it and report back! :D

"REMINDER: We're offering a free tour of Alpine Valley Music Theatre this Wednesday the 22nd of June at 6:00pm. You'll want to enter at the main Alpine marquee sign (pictured above) and park in the lot right outside of the Box Office (clearly marked with signs). We'll show you anything/everything you want to see! Bring your cameras and positive attitudes!"

Thanks for all your help, Brian! Hope to run into you in the parking lot (figuratively speaking! )

We've started getting things ready! We're downsizing our set up again this year. The "less is more" approach gets more appealing with each passing year. Looking forward to great weather and can't wait to get the party started Friday night in Lake Geneva! [smilie=coolup.gif]

What time is the lot opening? Last year we got there around noon and there were plenty of people already set up. Thanks!

I agree, Mandy, we waited in line at 2p.m. for over an hour and it seemed that there were TONS of people in there even though they said the lots didn't open until 3.....we are planning on paying the early entry fee of $20 just to get there early enough to enjoy the whole day. Hope this awesome weather forecast holds up!! FINS UP!!

Hi!

Noob on the site but a Buffet veteran who recently returned to Alpine Valley Margaritaville last year after a 6 year hiatus.... I can't wait to go again this Saturday.

Question about parking. Lot doesn't open until 3? Same as last year? but when we got there at 3 there were a ton of cars already parked. When is the "real" opening so I can bring my 7 other parrotheads in to party.

General parking is scheduled to open at 3pm with early entry parking available beginning at 1pm. Of course, we need staff to open the lots and we are in constant contact with the Sheriff's department to monitor traffic conditions. We will attempt to open as close to those times as possible without causing issues on surrounding roadways.

Heard there was quite a bit of road construction around Alpine. Does anyone know if that rest area south of the grounds is still open? Thanks!

It was still open a few weeks ago when we were up that way. They are fixing bridges, down to one lane in both directions all around East Troy. Another reason they'll end up opening the lots early!!

I'm at home practicing for Alpine with a 12 pack of Corona.

I didn't get enough practice in while I was in Chicago from Friday to Monday.

I didn't sneak anywhere.
I posted here AND facebook that I'd be in town for the Yankees/Cubs series, the opening of Margaritaville, and one of the Cubs/White Sox games.
BTW-I'll be there next month for Jimmy's concert, Paul McCartney at Wrigley Field, a couple of the Yankees/White Sox games that same week, and the Fest for Beatles Fans that weekend. You heard it here first.
Chicago will be so sick of me by the end of the first week of August, Rham-bo "Deadfish" Emmanuel will have his gang of thugs chasing me out of town faster than the 3rd monkey going for the last seat on Noah's Ark.

Good Gravy I need this weekend, I'm such a stress ball from work and other work, and new baby, and GAAAHHHH... Save me Jimmy, you're my only hope!

Some last minute reminders for everyone:

General parking lot opening time is 3pm. Early entry parking lot opening time is 1pm. Early entry fees are $20 for cars and $50 for oversize vehicles. All oversize vehicles, VIP Parking, motorcycles, and drop-offs should enter only at the main theatre entrance (the one with the sign). Disabled accessible parking is available by entering at the Alpine Valley RESORT entrance which is 1/2 mile east of the main theatre entrance. Gates to the theatre will open at 7pm and the show begins at 8pm.

Reserved seats and lawn seat tickets remain available for the show and if tickets remain, will be available at the box office on Saturday. You may bring the following into the theatre for the show: extra clothes, small blankets or tarps, small backpacks or bags, purses, and inflatable sharks and beach balls.

Here's some common stuff that won't be permitted through the gates: All audio and video recording devices; all types of cameras; cans or bottles of any kind; large blankets and tarps; Camelbaks; high lawn chairs; umbrellas; strollers; sharp, studded or pointed jewelry or clothing; weapons of any kind including pocket knives, pepper spray or wallet chains; laser pointers or glow sticks; and banners, flags, or signs.

Current weather forecast for East Troy/Lafayette (the actual Township Alpine is located in):
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 75. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 56. Southeast wind around 5 mph.

Of course, you guys are all pros and this isn't your first rodeo, so you most likely know these items better than I do. See you Saturday and enjoy the show!

Brian, is an S.U.V. considered an oversized vehicle, or do they get let in for the same $20.00 as regular cars?

Thanks for all your info and support for us over the years.
I think it was 2006 or 2007, you came over to where our group was and introduced yourself to me.
We only talked for a few minutes (other than on line), and I really enjoyed chatting with you. I'll make every effort to find you again this year and say hi. It's always good to hear from you and be the recipients of your positive attitude. There aren't many like you, and I, for one, really appreciate you being there.

Looking forward to hopefully seeing you on Saturday.
