Inexpensive Shipping Ideas?

Post by thebeachbumm33 »

My sister is moving her life from NJ to Boise :o Basically it's clothes and personal effects, she can take up to 210lbs of stuff on the airplane at no charge(thank you Uncle Sam or is it United? lol). Still leaves alot of stuff(clothes :o ) that still needs to head out there. UPS will run her around $80 a box any ideas to cut that # in half????

Don't know if she's got enough stuff to for one, but has she looked into a Pod?

That was my thinking.. I priced a box that was 50 lbs, $200 value, and it was $65..

If she has enough stuff, put all the boxes on a pallet and stretch wrap it tight then check and see if she can get a pallet rate from a shipping company (Not UPS or FedEx though) through her work or someone she knows that might ship things out of a warehouse or such. Some of the ones we use here in Boise are Oak Harbor, Diamond Line and Penninsula.
In fact I know the Diamond Line rep if you want me to make a call...
FYI I have pallets of goods coming in from Chicago for around 175.

And why Boise?
