Some of our neighbors were selling cases of grapefruit and oranges last Fall. Not a big deal for some, but when you live where I do (ID) sweet oranges in Fall are hard to come by!

One of the schools in my hometown did a toilet in the yard and another did a flock of pink flamingos.

Basically as the homeowner you wake up in the morning to either a decorated toilet or a flock of pink flamingos in the yard with a note that explains that the school club has chosen them to be a donor and for a small donation the items will be removed immediately. I'm not sure how much money they raised.

My neighbor's kids sold pizzas last year - I can't remember what company they were from but it was a national chain. You had a choice of toppings and crusts (including whole wheat) they came 3 to a box and the crust, cheese and toppings were all separate and frozen. They were VERY good - of course I added stuff to them but I really enjoyed having them already in the freezer if I had a yen for pizza.

I may be wrong but the "suggested minimum donation" was somewhere between $20-25. You've got to do it to people that would be reasonably cool about it.

Our school said enough with the fundraisers and asked people to make a donation at the beginning of the year. They said, which is true, that they would not ask for any money during the year. It's been sort of nice.

But, Mal, to answer your question, you could sell...er....uh...mulch? No wait, that's the Boy Scouts. Ah crap, I got nothing. Except bus tokens.

Around here, it's Little Caesars that does that. You're right, when you add your own toppings they are pretty good.

Unfortunately, donations only go so far. Girl kid's school is facing a $165k shortfall for things like textbooks (there's more but I don't remember from the meeting), etc. compared to last year's budget. We recently had a copy paper drive because the school ran out of paper.

Wear something low cut.
You'll have the PTA dads lined up around the block.

Pancake Breakfast....I was the fundraising chair for my son's high school marching band booster club for 3 years. PM me and I'll give you the details. 110 kids (who I might add didn't have a minimum sales expectation) pre sold about 450 tickets year-after-year....you can clear $2,400. Not bad for a Saturday morning.

One of our favorite fundraisers was a gymnastics club that sold really good quality mulch. It was delivered to your driveway. We bought from them every year.

I always picked up the pizzakits from the folks at work when they were selling them for the kids. They were good.

I know you said no candy, but that was a guaranteed winner at work. Leave them in the breakroom with an envelope and come back and rake in the cash. Stress sells chocolate. Work causes stress.....

I run a soccer club. We do the Little Caesars pizza kits and make good money. The best money is from teaming up with a local screen printing business. They also do embroidery and have any type of shirt, bag, coat, etc. that the kids/parents may want to buy with the school's logo/name on it. They give us a cut of the order, which is a good amount. Plus, it's items the parents or grandparents would be buying for their kids/family to show their team/school spirit anyways. Pizza joints will also set aside a night that if people call in and mention the school they give you x amount from the orders. Some restaurants will let the parents waitress or help out to get x amount of bills from the day. Let me go through emails and see what other promotions I have received.

Does AVON do fundraisers where you would get a % of sales? This could also benefit your sister.......just a thought.
