Re: Who's Going to Toronto - Sat. July 16
Hi all-we are coming from NY- where do parrot heads tailgate for the concert? Do we need a special parking pass? Can we tailgate at all? Alcohol? Grills? We want to plan a party but aren't sure if we can or where we can. Thanks for any info.

Ok, here's the deal. Of course I am not the official word, but this is what has gone down the last couple times.cas00 wrote:Hi all-we are coming from NY- where do parrot heads tailgate for the concert? There is no tailgating in Canada. In past years, the park security have been very strict in enforcing this policy. If you try and set up a grill and have a few drinks, don't be surprised if you are told to stop immediately. Since the park is open to the public that day (i.e. lots of families and kids), they may be even more strict with this.
Parking is limited there, so if you come late in the afternoon, you may not get a spot. I have been to other shows there where we had to park elsewhere.
The pre concert party is put on by the Toronto Maple Reefer PHC and is at Echo Beach in the park starting at 11 am. There will be food and alcohol for purchase there. Check the link for a map of the park. Echo beach is #17.

And that's the story. Its not a 'typical' Buffett show with an all day tailgate. Come in the afternoon, drop by the Maple Reefer party, sneak a drink or two from the trunk when you get the chance. That's the only way to enjoy the day.
That's my $.02. Not the news you probably wanted to hear, but, I hope it helps you plan your day.
Dumb and drunk as I was, you know I would do it all again.

Still recovering from Camden! No, seriously, that was 4 hard days of serious partying. (Nadirah on Wednesday, JB on Thursday, Trop Rocker Swim Skinny on Friday, Hangover Hangout on Saturday). Then Jon got a cold from some of the germy Camden crew and we are still beat! Can I get excited starting oh, say on Tuesday??secretguests wrote:13 Days!

Prefer the pics from the Oilers years, but you can't argue with the look on his face.

Re: Who's Going to Toronto - Sat. July 16
and tomorrow, it's "the greatest of them all" ?
Does anyone want to start a phone list, meet-up plan or anything ACTUALLY about this concert?
I'll be at the Maple Reefers party on Friday and at the beach party with them on Saturday. The Toronto Maple Reefers Parrot Head Club (TMRPHC) is sitting in the 300 section for the concert. That's where I'll be.

The Tailgate that just might happen...
I have been to every Toronto show and every year I hear, no tailgating, no booze, no fun.
Every year I get that and there is lots of tailgating, lots of booze and lots of fun in the parking lot.
Every year I see Toronto Police walking around the perimeter smiling, wearing lays and never persecuting people for tailgating, grilling, etc.
Every year there is also a Maple Reefer party that also seems to go off with great success.
The only difference I saw from the last show confirmed a rumor that Molson, would turn a blind eye to party if when you entered the parking lot you paid your fee and took a flyer from them that was loaded with legal ease that explained that by parking here you waive all your rights to sue Molson for anything that is about to take place on this property.
My bet is that this is exactly what will happen again this year. That the cops will respect the fans and the fans will respect that police. People will have fun and as long as they are not getting carried away and drinking their drinks out of plastic cups, all should be well.
Correct, this will not compare to the party at a great woods show, but all in all, it will be a fun time, filled with some special treats Jimmy likes to pull out when he comes 'home' to Canada.
This week we had a Prince and next we have the King of Somewhere Hot!
PHINS Up!
