Does anyone want to start a phone list, meet-up plan or anything ACTUALLY about this concert?
I'll be at the Maple Reefers party on Friday and at the beach party with them on Saturday. The Toronto Maple Reefers Parrot Head Club (TMRPHC) is sitting in the 300 section for the concert. That's where I'll be. 8)

Nope - Gordie Howe! :D

I know these things because I hail from one of those "small border towns" Jimmy sings about.
A most mysterious calling harbour
So far, but yet, so near
Where I see the day
When my hair's full gray
and I finally...disappear. BUT NOT YET!!

I just saw an overhead shot of Molson. I. Am. Jealous. I love water venues.
I knew this girl made of memories and phrases, who lived her whole life in both chapters and stages.
Danced 'til the dawn, wished all her worries away.

She's a long way from a West Nashville grand ballroom gown.

It could be an all time great venue if we could tailgate like a GW show. So much parking across Lakeshore Blvd, easy access to tons of public transit.

My dad used to live down the street from a very famous #9, the first player to score more than 50 goals in a season, but that's probably not who you're talking about...

Probably not, but he got some consideration. Some huge notable players got left off the inaugural list.

Thanks Coug...

I've been to them all as well. I've seen a little tailgating going on too. You are right, nothing like GW, but it's there. Just don't want people to get their hopes up if things don't go well that day. This is a rare concert that Ontario Place is open and I'm not sure what's going to happen.

Toronto? No. 9?
Sorry, I can only think Damon Allen, Marcus' brother, Lefty.

Another beauty weather day in Hogtown today.
That photo of the Keg on the lake does look cool.

Nice choice, and even though he and his family still live in the area, he's just not Canadian enogh for the list.

Good story about Gordie here from Geoff Baker who does a blog for the Seattle Mariners:

Texas Rangers at Mariners: Sept. 19, 2010 game thread
Posted by Geoff Baker
Ryan Langerhans just tripled to right field and came home to score the go-ahead run on a single by Josh Wilson. So, make it 2-1 for the Mariners as we head to the eighth inning. Brandon League is now on after Doug Fister managed to go seven innings, allowing just the one run on nine scattered hits.

So, I'm sitting here in the pressbox covering the game and I get a phone call from my better half, Amy, who is off on a business trip today and was at the Delta lounge at SeaTac Airport.

"Ever heard of someone named Gordie Howe?'' she asks.

Uh, yeah, I replied, naming his hometown, the names of his kids, the fact that he was the NHL's all-time scoring leader until Wayne Gretzky came along, that he played in the NHL into his fifties, etc.

So, she actually puts "Mr. Hockey" on the phone and we start shooting the breeze for the next five minutes about Canada and other stuff. I asked him what brought him to Seattle and he tells me "The pretty blonde who just put me on the phone with you.''

Good to see a guy in his 80s still has a sense of humor. Told him to keep his elbows away from her and he laughed (like he hasn't heard that joke eight million times). Told me he was in Seattle for a fundraiser.

For those of you baseball purists who can't stand the thought of anything hockey on someone else's blog, it was about the equivalent of having Babe Ruth get on the horn.

1 week until we begin our migration to Toronto!

Is there a plan to meet at a specific location and time on Saturday?

Nothing planned yet. Plan B is to find everyone at the Maple Reefer party in the afternoon. If anyone has an idea for Plan A, please speak now. Trouble is, it all depends on what the parking lot looks like. That's the big unknown.
