And if it's anywhere near as "authentic" as the Margaritaville in Vegas, it'll be hard to find many ties to Jimmy or the dream...
I do not get this statement
The purpose of branding it a Margaritaville casino was not to attract thousands of Parrotheads every night to the tables. How many PH's do you figure are in Vegas on any given day??
The purpose is solely to have a new "theme" casino that will pull the drunken passers-by in the door out of curiousity to drop some cash. I suspect in 3 years or so they'll switch to yet another theme based upon whatever is hot at the time.
As for the atmosphere, the thought behind the second statement is that this Margaritaville is the least authentic of any I've ever been in. The staff aren't phans, you can't engage them in Buffett-talk, as they immediately glaze over or are distracted by whatever catches their eye. For them, it's just another Vegas bartending or waitperson job good for a few months. The crowd at night is definitely NOT primarily Parrotheads, as you can tell from the music they're dancing to and the way they're dressed. Heck, I'd guess a goodly number probably wandered in thinking this was yet another Vegas buffet!! You'll see very few Buffett concert t-shirts, MV caps, etc. here. This property is clearly just an investment by some non-phan entrepreneur who recognized a good cash-flow opportunity when he/she saw it.
Other than that, I LOVE the place!

I wonder if the blue tent on the balcony will be JD/Savannah's DJ roost?

So why is the casino in the Flamingo when Jimmy performs at the MGM?

Maybe because the Margaritaville Restaurant is located in the Flamingo?

There's a lot of seniority in the M'ville Vegas staff. They don't quit those jobs. The bartenders are union and make around $18 an hour plus tips. According to one who would talk last year

So are there "Jimmy" themed slot machines? Parrots instead of Cherries?
