Swimming is pretty much a requirement around here. It is taught in Phys Ed classes and Phys Ed is mandatory. Most of us however knew how to swim long before we got to class. Nearly every vacation imaginable here in Michigan seems to involve the water in some way or another. It is quite popular to teach infants to swim as well.
